Good stuff So non signed academy players can play for Madison and develop. This is how you start building a developmental pipeline. It looks like I'll be making more Madison trips this summer.
This is how you build a club! Should be noted that Forward Madison plays in League One, not Championship.
I looked into Forward Madison season tickets for this year. That was how I found out that Peter Wilt had left. Maybe I will consider it this Summer.
Honestly, all they need to do is fix the logo and this team will be all that we wanted when it came to rehabbing from Hauptman. (Although, Nelson is still lurking somewhere)
I just got back from a work trip in Wisconsin and brought back a 12er of Moon Man and a 12er of Cabin Fever.
Madison is always worth an overnight trip as well. And Breese Stevens isnt that far from everything . I'm planning at least one overnight weekend in Madison , and I don't even drink anymore.. but it's still a blast .
Last time I went to Wisconsin I had to work that afternoon and only had time for gas station to get beer and Culver's. I feel like it would be a nice trip on a budget
Definitely going to plan my month in the UP this Summer around a Madison game on the way up and another on the way down. Also, Campton Hills? That's rich, white folk country. Edit: says the guy spending a month at his lake house
Yeah, is that an issue? Is it a lower level of play for our loanees? There are several MLS affiliates in the league so it doesn't seem crazy, but it's an interesting question.
I think I'd prefer it for younger players. Still a pretty big step up from academy games, but a little bit lower pressure.
Lower than playing for the Chicago Fire (FC)? [I am so looking forward to the day, very soon I hope, when I stop being cynical about the Fire]
Yeah, from our Academy players angle, it's huge. From building a legit pyramid, it's huge. There's still a missing layer though, an affiliation with a USL Championship club. The way things are going, I'm expecting it. Also, an expanded Academy. Pretty mind boggling they cut the oldest level team. Well, not really.
