-Cottbus will get money due to the success of 02-Beier (Hoff) and 01-Schade (Freiburg). Always amazing when one sees players who came from Cottbus Academy but get poached. These 2 players both left Cottbus in 2018, where Beier won U17 Sud/Sudwest top scorer in his 1st Hoff season and now playing 1BL. While Schade believe is viewed as 1st team prospect at Freiburg.

I'm always curious about assists in U19. Besides clubs like Bayern and Dortmund vast majority of clubs's assists are NOT fully updated, some are barely updated. Makes it harder to get picture on players season as some players might assist more than score.

-meanwhile 02-Adeyemi with an assist in YL as Salzburg trash Derby U19, 4-1 and advance to QF. Just every day Adeyemi.:p

for Bayern U19, Stiller assisted Dajaku for the 1st goal followed by some OBM moves and shot that got deflected to Cuni who crossed into box which led to OG.

04 CF Wagner of Stuttgart U17, playing up an age group. Believe he skipped U16....

Eastern Bavaria - your football talents
Maxi Wagner: professional footballer? More than just a dream

Maximilian Wagner very consciously decided to switch to VfB Stuttgart in 2018.
As a child, Maxi Wagner (16) had a big dream of becoming a football professional. The striker from Lower Bavaria is currently pursuing this at VfB Stuttgart, where they are very satisfied with his development, and in the youth team.

When Maxi Wagner was just seven or eight years old, he stood at home in the Germany jersey and held up a trophy. "Back then he said he wanted to become world champion with Germany one day," recalls Dennis Wagner. The parents, father Dennis and mother Katja, dismissed it as a dream that every little boy has. But for little Maxi, it was always more than a simple childhood dream. It was always clear to him: I want to make my hobby football my profession.

The recently 16-year-old has gradually come closer to this dream in recent years and is well on the way to making it come true in the next few years. As a younger generation, the footballer from Oberroning in the Landshut district plays in the U17 team of VfB Stuttgart. He is also working for the U16 national team in Germany. At the beginning of February, he was only in Portugal with the DFB juniors to compete with the Netherlands, Colombia and Portugal. Two defeats and one win were recorded, Wagner was allowed to run once from the start and was substituted twice. At the tournament, it was noticed "that we reached our limits in the games, so it was a good tournament for us because we have to stay tuned," said coach Michael Prus.

First DFB goal: Wagner "couldn't believe it"
For Maxi Wagner, the assignments for the DFB are always something very special. He can still very well remember his first appearance in the national jersey. That was for the U15 team in May last year. He describes it as "one of the best experiences so far in my life". It was an incredible feeling to be on the pitch for Germany. He also fondly remembers his first international goal for the U16 national team last September. He came on against Austria about ten minutes before the end, it was 1-1. He was only on the field for a minute when Samuel Bamba of Borussia Dortmund hit a cross from the right into the box. Wagner held his foot out - and the ball hit. "I couldn't believe it at first," he says with a smile in his eyes.

Wagner is currently a member of the national team. He was also there for the international match against the Czech Republic in November in Bogen. Quite a home game for Lower Bavaria, many acquaintances were there. And Wagner was allowed to lead his team as captain in front of over 2,500 spectators. "Leading the national team as captain in front of so many people was an incredible feeling, I won't forget that soon," he says. Wagner also received a lot of praise from national team coach Prus about the game in Bogen: "Maximilian is an extremely fast player who always creates opportunities in the penalty area. He has a good end, a good header game, but you can also combine well with him I think he's currently on the right track. "

Many possibilities: Wagner is the focus
His path led him to Stuttgart a year and a half ago. He grew up in a soccer-crazy family. His twin sister Anna and his younger brother Ben (8) also play football, his father used to play in the third highest league and in the Hessen selection. "With three children playing football, I no longer bother to repair the lawn in the garden in front of the goal," says Dennis Wagner with a smile. Maxi started playing football at SV Pattendorf at the age of four, where he was trained by his father. The next logical step followed in the U13 and Wagner switched to the junior department of SSV Jahn Regensburg. He played there for two years before he had several interesting inquiries in summer 2018. He had focused on the Bayern selection. The Bavarians asked as well as Augsburg, Leipzig and Stuttgart.

"All the clubs presented themselves superbly back then," says the father. The decision for Stuttgart was ultimately a very clear one. "The whole package," emphasize Dad and son in unison, was the decisive factor. "As parents, it was particularly important to us what it looked like in terms of boarding and school and how to deal with the boys there. We really enjoyed that at VfB and it became clear relatively quickly that the way was going to Stuttgart," reports Dennis Wagner.

It was not easy for the parents and siblings to let the talented soccer player go to Stuttgart, around 300 kilometers away. "It was a strange feeling. Above all, driving him to the train station on Sunday afternoons and not knowing whether you would see him the following week," reports Dennis Wagner. However, the family tries to see each other as often as possible on weekends. Maxi either comes home or the family visits him in Stuttgart.

    Retrained as a striker
It was also a change for the then 14-year-old to suddenly be away from home. But getting used to Stuttgart was easy for him, he says. He was well received by the team - and it went well for him right from the start. Used more in central midfield or even in defense at Jahn, VfB was planned with him from the start as a striker. Wagner scored equally well in the first preparatory games. "I was amazed at how much I hit," he says. It was a bit bumpy at the beginning of the season, but at the end of the season he had scored 20 goals in 20 games and was the Stuttgart South German champion.

In the summer he rose to the VfB U17 team, where he is currently one of the youngest. This also has disadvantages. "As the youngest, of course, you have to clean up the balls and drag the water boxes," says Wagner with a smile. But that was not a problem for him. "Next year there will be others."

Before the season, the offensive player went well in the test games. But at the beginning of the season, he had a bit of problems and didn't hit several games in a row. "I was dissatisfied with myself there and also had a little doubt about myself," he admits. But he had received encouragement and trust from all sides - from the coaches, teammates and parents. With success: In the last three games before the winter break, he scored three times. "I fought my way out. Also the preparation for the second half of the season went well. I am very happy and in good shape right now. I want to build on that," he says. "Maxi is a good one-on-one player who has a very good urge to score and has a good goal finish," says Thomas Krücken, Director of the Sport Junior Training Center at VfB Stuttgart. “He recognizes the rooms very well and uses them very well. He has a very good physical base and is very eager to learn. We are satisfied with his development. "

100 more degrees per week: Individual support
In Stuttgart, they attach great importance to advancing the players individually. In addition, training takes place in small groups three times a week in the morning. “As a striker, Maxi therefore gets about 100 more goal scorings per week beyond the team training. A striker needs different training stimuli than a central defender, we take that into account. For his development, it is very important to always come back to the situation he has in the games at the weekend - this is exactly what we want to support him with, ”says Thomas Krücken. “As part of a small group of strikers, Maxi is always on the pitch with a soccer coach, a video analyst and an athletics coach, who then analyze and discuss his goal completions from various perspectives, for example from the biomechanics aspect. "

This individual work was also a point for the Wagners why they chose VfB as an association. And also because it is compatible with the school. Because what the young kickers miss through the morning sessions will be made up in the afternoon. "The teachers come to us and teach us in smaller groups," says Maxi Wagner. His father praises this as a "luxury situation". While Maxi Wagner was "not the best student" in Bavaria, as he says himself, he now has better grades in Stuttgart - also thanks to the change from G8 to G9. It also needs it, because VfB attaches great importance to school. "If it doesn't fit in school, then you can't train at VfB," reveals Maxi Wagner. But that hadn't happened to him yet.

It's easy to combine school and football in Stuttgart. In total, he also has two to three days a week off, says Wagner. In addition, the day after the training ends in the evening around seven or half past seven. "That was very important to us," says Dennis Wagner. Even in Regensburg's times, his son was often still studying late at night, which was regulated differently in Stuttgart. "Maxi is still a teenager and he should have more in life than just football and school." What is he missing now in Stuttgart? The family, of course, says Maxi Wagner. But also the friends back home. "Just go to the soccer field in the afternoon and play soccer with my buddies, I sometimes miss that," he says. For his dream, however, he gladly accepts that.

    The buddy did it
One of Wagner's best friends in Stuttgart is Lilian Egloff. The offensive midfielder is one step further than the Niederbayer. He trains with the pros and recently made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga at the age of 17 - at home against SSV Jahn Regensburg. Wagner of course concentrates on a successful second half of the season with the U17. However, he would have nothing against it if it were the same for him. "The dream professional is now getting closer," he says. Of course, he also spoke to Egloff about his experiences. "He told me what it was like to suddenly train with players that you normally only know on TV. And he said that it is worth working hard to achieve that."

“Maxi is focused, willing to learn and to perform. If he keeps it that way and continues to concentrate on school and football, further development steps will follow, doors are open to him, "says Thomas Krücken," he is a very interesting player and can do a very good job in our U17 next season and become a dominant striker. We want to continue the sustainable development process with him. ”

    Wagner cannot lose
In conversation with Maxi Wagner, one does not have the impression that he could lose grip. His father also praised his son's character: "Maxi is very down-to-earth and clearly pursues his goals." His big goal has always been to become a professional - "and he continues to pursue that very persistently to this day." While buddies would also party in the evening, Maxi was in bed at 10 p.m. because there was a game on the next day. He also pays great attention to nutrition and forces himself to do his runs at -2 degrees during the Christmas holidays.

"From an early age, Maxi had aspired to be the best. That doesn't always work, but he never lost the aspiration," says Dennis Wagner. The 16-year-old, who names Timo Werner and Kylian Mbappé as his role models, also confirms this: "I can't lose, it has always been like this. It has always been my aspiration to win - whether with the family or on the Football field. If I lose, I'm gnawed. I want to keep working on myself and I want to keep this attitude, because that's one of the most important points to reach the goal. " A good attitude to maybe really one day raise a big trophy, as he did at home as a little boy.

the topic of 01 CBs and Cottbus reminded me of another player Jarosch of Cottbus U19 who is also the captain. He's already made the 1st team bench a bunch of times and made his 1st team debut this season in minor cup. Cottbus are 3rd Liga promotion candidates. At this point seems likely that 01-Eisenhuth, 98-Taz (on loan) and 00-Broschinski could all leave in Summer. Recall it was confirmed that Eisenhuth is leaving in Summer.

there is also 01 CB Jeck from 2BL Aue who is skipping U19 and went on loan to RL in Summer.

    X1: Schierenbeck

    Dutch Cup
-Arweiler unused as Utrecht knocks out Ajax and advances

    DFB Cup.
-Cetin continues to be unused as Frankfurt knocks out Bremen. No more dfb for J.Eggestein, Goller, Woltemade etc.
-02 CF Woltemade played his 3rd pro game today as he came on the 90+1 in the 2-0 loss.

meanwhile Toprak looks to have suffered a serious injury for Bremen today. Could be chance for someone like Rieckmann to at least make squad if it's serious.

Moukoko training with Kuntz who was made head of attackers training. And why is Bild hinting that Moukoko could play U21 next season? I'm against that even if he plays 1BL next season. Shouldn't over do it this young.
    https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...-training-von-stefan-kuntz-69186176.bild.html

lol, Moukoko already has his own wikipage.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youssoufa_Moukoko

    Backstory.
In the first ten years of his life, Moukoko grew up with his grandparents in Cameroon's capital Yaoundé in an area, which was predominantly Muslim. His father (* 1951), who has lived in Hamburg as a German citizen since the 1990s, brought his son to Germany in the summer of 2014. Youssoufa Moukoko has four siblings.[10] Youssoufa Moukoko's older brother Borel has been playing since 2019 for Schwarz-Weiß Essen.

so confirms that he was born German citizen which makes sense since his father registered him at the German embassy after his birth. So even if he was born outside he was always German.

Dortmund seem to be scouting a lot of very young talent and aiming to develop (and then probably sell them), which isn’t a bad thing necessarily but a bit annoying that none are German. Pulisic, Sancho, Zagadou, Haaland, Reyna and now they are going for Camavinga and Bellingham, whilst the likes of Weigl, Toljan and Dahoud plus their academy players get nowhere and then leave. Maybe Raschl and Moukoko will change that soon but currently the NT’s future is not being helped much by any of Bayern, Dortmund or Leipzig.

and none of those are Academy players, reflects poorly on them. Worse part is those 3 clubs you listed keep being 3/4 CL clubs of Germany.......

if you notice, the 2 German clubs that always always complain about German talents but never say much about the issues and they are the ones training them to begin with are Dortmund and Leipzig. Who at this point in time are nothing but International dev clubs. I tend to find those 2 clubs seem more interested in dev players foreign players who they can sell for boat load of money. Let's face it, German players are never that expensive to sell, the biggest German transfer ever is a measly $37-45M in Sane, LOL. If Dortmund pays $35M for a 16 year old in Bellingham they would sell him for a ton more than that in the future.

these 3 German clubs are also ones who never seem to give a shit about their own players and ALWAYS lured by players from other clubs. Can't go by a day without them being linked to some foreign youngsters. And then end up blocking their own players.

it's not just Lutke-Frie (highly rated midfielder) who will struggle it's even someone like Semic, when they want Hakimi permanent+they got that Spaniard Morey who are both RBs.

Dortmund in nutshell, when we get foreign young players it's because we believe they can make 1st team but then it's like all the young players who seem close to 1st team or jump early are the non-Germans.......Let's see what they do with all their promising 03-05s......currently with all these transfers rumors seems more - for the players.

these clubs also show the issue, why are some of these promising Dortmund 03s still in U17? They should have promoted them to U19 this season. While Lutke-Frie plays U17, Bellingham is playing English 2nd division. I know Lutke-Frie at current 16 can't play yet pro level but he can play easily play U19. It's weird when there are tons of 03s in U19 but Dortmund nada. Bayern U19 constantly play like 4-5 03s in their XI. There isn't much promotion of German talents at Dortmund outside of Moukoko. Feels like players play U17 to last possible second, then U19 to last possible second then get dumped to II for awhile. I think 04-Collins could jump to U19 next season due to them having 05-Pauli supposedly move to U17 and you still got guys like Cisse and others who can play CB next season in U17. But it's also due to them potentially not wanting to lose Collins to other clubs that could make them promote him early. It's easy to see why they get lured by other players when their own promising players are still playing low level. And let's face, Dortmund was the #1 club that wants to reduce age limit to 16, expect a lot more foreign youngsters.......

as for Raschl, I currently expect he maybe plays 1BL if they got some irrelevant games end of season and then will likely get dumped on loan.

-98 Gotze seems to be getting closer.
On Wednesday Felix Götze was able to participate again in the team training of FC Augsburg after his hip problems again. His return to the training ground this week went according to plan, as this was announced last Thursday by head coach Martin Schmidt.

On the previous day, in the 2: 3 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach, the 22-year-old still had to pass. With regard to the next weekend, the defensive midfielder could at least again be an option for the squad.

-seems like Horn could make it for Paderborn after all. So potentially no pro debut for Krahl.

    -Bayern II talk.

FC Bayern U23 "uses the 3rd league very professionally"
Insider Ole Book compares U23 teams from then and now

Up until the previous early summer, SV Wehen Wiesbaden has been active in all seasons of the 3rd division in this division of local professional football since 2008 and is therefore first in the table in the perpetual table of this division. With 148 wins in 380 games. The SpVgg Unterhaching, if the current round continues to be so positive for them, could just pass by in the end.

With 163 appearances, Ole Book is also a specialist in this 3rd division. As a midfield strategist and for a time as captain, he experienced six of these ten Wiesbaden football years, which always aimed to return to the 2nd Bundesliga. That worked out in the last early summer.

Ole Book, who was promoted to the Bundesliga with MSV Duisburg and was also active at RW Ahlen and was used around 100 times in the 2nd Bundesliga, is now head of sports at SV 07 Elversberg. This is the most constant adversary of the Saarbrücken cup heroes in the Regionalliga Südwest.

Recently, the former Under-21 international was an eyewitness to the Munich third division derby Unterhaching against Bayern Munich. What he got to see on the one hand made his football heart leap and on the other hand let him take a deep breath and be happy that he no longer has to be measured by this Sprinter ensemble from Säbener Strasse on the field.

As an opponent you have to be scared and scared. (Ole Book)
“These young Bayern professionals,” explains Ole Book ecstatically, “are the best in football that has ever been seen in the history of the 3rd division. A ball security, a combination fireworks, a constant speed and a never-ending hunt for the opposing goal are programmed that I am currently glad not to have to play against Bayern. As an opponent you have to be scared and scared. "

With Otschi Wriedt they are the best scorers with 25 goals. With Christian Früchtl perhaps the best goalkeeper. With Alphonso Davies and Joshua Zirkzee, two players have now been able to play the Bundesliga with frenzy. Lukas Mai is also on the go. And Fiete Arp has just been stabilized again in the Bayern U23 team. "The Bavarians have recognized the value of the 3rd league for themselves and use this stage very professionally," says Ole Book.

This cross-team action is also new in this intensity. In the past, the U23 and Bundesliga remained two different projects within one club.

Ole Book can compare the appearances of this FC Bayern team, which with its international diversity looks like a world selection of 19-year-old teenagers, with previous U23 teams from the Bundesliga training department. And so Book comes to the following conclusion: "A Bundesliga reserve in the 3rd division has never before been able to boast as perfectly, as rapidly and as enthusiastically as the current Bayern-Bubis."

Ole Book has experienced it for years in the sweat of the face: the young Dortmund, Stuttgart, Bremen and Mainz. "Yes, they have always been a bit faster, livelier and fresher with their actions. But at some point our men's football usually prevailed, ”Book reported with a look in the rear view mirror.

U23 no more fun brake and no more losing business
In fact, it has never happened in the 3rd division since its starting shot in 2008 that a U23 team in the field of participants has received as much recognition as the Bundesliga apprentices at FC Bayern Munich.

While the presence of the training players from VfB Stuttgart, Werder Bremen or Mainz 05 was more likely to be a brake on fun and a loss, the opposite is currently the case: the talent portfolio of FC Bayern has long been a great asset to almost all locations in this third League made out.

Quality never seen before in this division. (Ole Book)
And so it often happens that Liga-Drei.de by coaches like Meppens Christian Neidhart, Rostocks Jens Härtel, Zwickaus Joe Enochs or Cologne's Pavel Dotchev is a veritable smorgasbord of hymns of praise for the young guys from all over the world who are on Säbener Straße get their finishing touches for the Bundesliga. And the bottom line is always the same as with Ole Book: "Bavaria embodies outstanding quality that has never been seen before in this division."

Ole Book was an eyewitness to the fifth Bayern victory in the sixth match of 2020 and now, given the current top condition of this Bayern, he sees no good for the opponents in this hot March of soccer in the third division.

Because, after the upcoming Saturday match against Großaspach, Ingolstadt and Braunschweig will also have to deal with FC Bayern's speed kickers.

They may not ascend themselves, but continue to annoy everyone from the favorites at any time ...

    i have my doubts

Bayern have some relatively young players. 23-25 , like Sule, Gnabry, Goretzka, Kimmich and later Sané. They were developed by Schalke, Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and Bochum

their German players don’t Have to be academy developed.

if Lutke-Frie is that great, why should he afraid of competition? Fact is, Lutke-Frie isn’t that good as a talent. If u say CamaWinga he is more established and Bellington is a top talent

we need more top talents. @Ger90 think clubs can develop them but the potential/talent in all the players differ. We just need those materials

DLF (Dennis Lutke Frie) is not a top talent.

Morey is a free transfer and has been inured for long. If Semic Is as good as Ger90 has advertised, why should he fear competition?

I can tell u the truth. NLZ of Dortmund no longer attract the best talent nowadays, so is Schalke’s

the best are now in Koln if u are talking about Talents from the West . Apparently some players like Reyna, Collins and Moukoko are standout , but Dortmund do not attract the best young German players anymore

there are still a few standouts like Nnamdi Collins n Moukoko. But top talents in Dortmund are rare. If Dortmund U19 are without Moukoko n Reyna, it’s an average team

Hertha, Koln, Mainz suddenly have the best talents in the country. Hoffenheim have a few in 2002

if u look at the games of Schalke 04 (especially) , Dortmund and Leipzig U19 this season. U can tell they don’t really have many standouts.

I think Dortmund needs to promote players to II more efficiently. You don't need to wait until Summer to promote someone to II or when they are no longer U19 eligible.

one of the reasons Bayern U19 has plenty of 03s is because when guys like OBM, Dajaku, Stiller and Zirkzee who are still U19 eligible but already playing II that opens up even more spots for younger players.

I find Dortmund is too fixated on U19 results and wanting to win trophies. Bayern promotes a lot and have to replace players and they are still competitive in U19.

their lack of moving players from U19 to II makes it that players waste even more time than they should in U17. And Lutke-Frie being captain is also a - since they will likely see him as too important to let go since they want to win trophies......

seriously who gives a shit about youth trophies. There is HUGE reason why I root for smaller clubs to win over bigger wins. Look at Koln, last season their U17 winning championship run changed the club's view on their own Academy players. Winning trophies has bigger effect on smaller clubs than the huge ones. It's why I root for clubs like Koln, Stuttgart, Mainz etc to do well, more benefits than Dortmund or Bayern winning.

It’s ridiculous for any fans to blames teams to wanna get better

I just wanna clarify, Dennis Lutke Frie is not good; other than Moukoko, Reyna n Unbehaun...I don’t see any local talent who is good from their U19 either.

Moukoko and Collins will make it because they are good.

Dortmund just seriously lack elite talents in youth ranks.

A friendly reminder, being captain doesn’t mean one is good or he’s going to promote

    nothing related

Football is competitive sport, nothing is for granted

If u have 22 talented players (not all can be trained)... look at Collins it’s natural talent, then why would they need to spend millions and buy a player with language barrier?

we just need to find those top talents again. But unfortunately Dortmund can’t attract many nowadays

With Merveille Papela, Oscar Schönfelder and Paul Nebel, three U19 players were allowed to train with the professionals during the week. "Of course, this is a confirmation of their achievements so far. Training at an even higher level always helps the boys," said Hoffmann happily for his players and also hopes that they can transfer the experience they have "to the next game and at the same time that make it clear to other boys that they are not far from there and can do it again. "

Outstanding player: Merveille Papela. "He felt he had not played a bad pass offensively and had not lost a duel defensively," praised Hoffmann the "six".

so Thielmann and Jakobs extends, seems like Katterbach is next.

    KATTERBACH BEFORE COMEBACK: PERFECT EXTENSION?
Noah Katterbach is about to make a comeback at 1. FC Köln - and apparently also about extending his contract, which runs until 2021. The 18-year-old has recovered from his ligament injury and could start training again next week. On the other hand, the decision regarding the contract extension could have been made on Wednesday.

Cologne - When the team of 1. FC Köln disappeared into the catacombs of Geißbockheim on Wednesday afternoon after training in the Franz Kremer Stadium, the FC bosses arrived at the office. The regular meeting of the joint committee took place. And apparently a pioneering decision was made there: the approval of Noah Katterbach's contract extension.

According to the Kölnische Rundschau, this should finally be perfect. The 18-year-old, whose twelve largely impressive Bundesliga games had not been followed without interest by other clubs this season, is said to have extended his contract, which runs until 2021, to 2024 in the long term. This agreement was apparently submitted to the Joint Committee on Wednesday and, according to Express, was not surprisingly adopted. In addition to Ismail Jakobs, whose contract had automatically been extended to 2022 due to the assignment, the next home grown at FC.

So it is a good thing that Katterbach will soon be available again for the FC. After tearing his ligaments, the left-back could complete individual units on the grass again this week. "Noah is a young guy and has good healing meat," said coach Markus Gisdol on Wednesday. “In the past you felt like you were incapable of sport with a ligament tear, now it is again appearing as if it could be available again quickly. Great job our medical department did. We are back on the home stretch for team training with him. ”

-Massimo who has established himself in XI for Stuttgart when fit. Currently has fitness issues, in recent game he only played 1st half due to fitness problems, seems like he was subbed out as he could have made himself a lot worse had he stayed longer. Seems like he wants to get fit in time to face his old club of AB.

    this week,
For this, as was often the case this season, the boys Wilden Lilian Egloff (U19), Nick Bätzner, Nikos Zografakis and goalkeeper Baboucarr Gaye (all U21) were also there.

looks like Kleinhansl isn't there this week while Zografakis (poached by Greece) and Gaye (poached by Gambia) where there. I think players like Aidonis and Mack are viewed as 1st teamers so might not be needed to list either one. Although Mack recently played his 1st game for II in ages. At the same time, looks like some of the recent injured older players are getting back so younger players are more likely focused in II. Do think it's interesting how Batzner seems to be the only II constant, training with 1st team.

    Bremen #1 Pavlenka is injured.

Head coach Florian Kohfeldt has to plan without his goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka for the time being. Werder's number 1 contracted a torn muscle in the adductor area in the DFB Cup quarter-final against Frankfurt. Kohfeldt confirmed this on Thursday afternoon as part of a media round in Frankfurt.

Florian Pavfeldt was unable to make a precise statement about Pavlenka's downtime. The only thing that is certain is that the keeper will not be used against Hertha next Saturday. “Of course we will miss him, but I have great confidence in Stefanos Kapino in this position. He always does a good job in training and in the test games, so we don't worry at all. I am sure that he is on fire and wants to show what he can do, ”explained Kohfeldt. Luca Plogmann is now traveling to Berlin for Pavlenka.

Plogmann was 1st 00-onwards GK to make 1BL debut. Now temporarily moves to 2nd GK for the time being.

-and look at that 01-Thiaw being compared to Joel Matip. Him and the currently injured Bozdogan (injury also means no dfb call up) for months now are likely the only Schalke 1st team prospects from 01. Bozdogan also elevates the Schalke U19 team. About the other 01s, who knows, Wagner has a knack of using players one wouldn't expect. Spending 1-2 seasons in Schalke II might not close 1st team door. I think with other coaches at Schalke, II players would likely have no 1st team future, of course this doesn't include 1st team prospects who spend some time in II.

Schalke's 97-Becker, career RL player, who now has played 4 pro games, 3 1BL+1 Cup.

Schalke defender Timo Becker and his "indescribable feelings"
At the cup quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, coach David Wagner placed his trust in young Timo Becker. The 22-year-old did not disappoint him.

It is not out of the question that the defender will soon receive a professional contract. The use in the cup made him hungry for more. "It was indescribable feelings to play for Schalke in such a game," said the defensive specialist. Given the thin Schalke ceiling, he has a good chance of playing in the Bundesliga again. So far, he has been used three times in the Bundesliga.

Timo Becker: Of all the days for my parents to not be at the stadium

His fourth competitive appearance for Schalke was the biggest one of his career so far for Timo Becker. The centre back, who usually plays for the club’s U23s, was part of the starting line up for the DFB-Pokal clash against Bayern München on Tuesday (3.3.). Becker delivered a strong performance against the defending champions before being subbed off in the 86th minute.

“It’s too bad that we weren’t able to advance to the next round,” the 22-year-old said about the match. Regardless of the result, he will still have good memories of the night in question. “My match jersey will be given a special place in my house,” said Becker, who made his first Bundesliga start for Schalke nearly a month ago against SC Paderborn 07. He had previously made two cameos for the Royal Blues in the Hinrunde.

I was born here, and both my father and mother have been fans for several years now.

The match saw Becker, who made the move from Rot-Weiss Essen to Schalke last summer, achieve a childhood dream. “”FC Schalke 04 is my club. I was born here, and both my father and mother have been fans for several years now,” said the defender, who previously wore the royal blue and white during a few seasons with the Schalke youth teams.

However, his parents were not at the VELTINS-Arena to witness his appearance against Bayern München. “Unfortunately, they weren’t at the stadium today, of all days,” said Becker. The reason why? Becker’s parents were on holiday in the Canary Islands. “They watched the game on T.V. and cheered us on from there,” he said.

Becker, who has been training regularly with the first team since November 2019, is hoping to be able to feature for the senior squad again in the future. “I try to do my best in every session,” said Becker, who felt welcomed by the team right from the start. This is also the reason why he didn’t feel nervous facing off against Bayern’s star-studded squad. “When you step onto the pitch, of course you’re still a bit nervous. That’s completely normal. But once the game gets underway, all that disappears,” said Becker. His secret: “I told myself ‘Why should you be scared? They’re just normal people!’”

seems like he's likely headed for pro contract. While his buddy 97-Carls, already signed pro contract until 2022 and went on Winter loan to 3rd Liga. Seems to be doing really well based on reports. Also Schalke refused to give VK a buying option in the loan. So seems like he could be used next season at Schalke. Carls another career RL player before this season has played 1 1BL game so far.

seems to me like the jump from RL to 1BL or even 3rd Liga to 1BL is only big when the players are still young as in their teens/early 20s. Once players hit like 22/23+, the 1BL jump is no longer a big deal. Likely have to do with more and more game practice vs adults and players get more physical as they get older too. Someone like Becker looked buff and had no problem dealing with everyone vs Bayern. Even commentator was talking about how physical Becker was.

it's also why we are seeing more and more 1BL clubs get embarrassed by 3rd Liga-RL clubs. Or why we are seeing more and more career 3rd Liga-RL players who are performing in 1BL when they play there. And tons of 2BL players also every year do well when they move to 1BL.

it really is why it's hard to judge any young player's future early. Sometimes think people obsess way way too much about direct promotions from U19 to 1BL and ignore majority of other players who just need some time. Whether 2BL-RL or playing abroad, the door is NEVER closed.

update on 00-David on loan from 2BL HSV.

In the third division since January HSV loan player Jonas David is in Würzburg

This loan has already paid off. Jonas David, on the ball for the Würzburger Kickers since January, gains a foothold in the professional business - and really enjoys it. The HSV managers will take good note of it.

Three times in a row, the 19-year-old was last in the starting eleven with the third division, twice the Würzburg went off as the winner, in a draw. "I am very happy with my start here," David told MOPO, explaining: "It has worked so far. I am totally happy with the decision. "

Jonas David only played a secondary role at HSV
No wonder, since he only played a secondary role at HSV in the first half of the season. An unfortunate mini-game at 1: 1 in Wiesbaden, that's it. Not particularly beneficial for the development of a young player. "We quickly came to a common denominator that a loan would be good for my further development," explains the central defender.

After three short missions in the past year and a half at HSV, David is a regular for the first time as a professional. “The perception and attention in the club, among fans and in the environment is different. This is also quite normal as a starting XI player. The team also looks more at you, that's different than when you're the 20th man in the squad, ”explains the four-time U20 international.

Dieter Hecking in conversation with Jonas David.
Dieter Hecking and Jonas David are in exchange.

HSV loan with Würzburg on the way up
With four wins from their last five matches, Würzburg is currently the top-form team in the third division - and is only four points behind leaders Duisburg! “The third division is really crazy. If you win three games, you play for promotion. If you lose three games, you are suddenly twelfth, ”says the defensive

In the summer David (contract until 2021) returns to the Elbe - at least according to the original plan. Or climb up with Würzburg first and then stay there longer? “I don't think about summer yet. Then you will see what the situation is like. But that doesn't matter now, ”explains David. He is in regular contact with sports director Michael Mutzel (40) and sports director Jonas Boldt (38).

Jonas David: Lively exchange with the HSV bosses
The 1.90-meter man has been playing for HSV since 2014, also follows his ex-colleagues from afar - and is confident about the rest of the second half of the season. "I am still part of the HSV. That goes without saying. I watch every game - unless our games overlap what happened last, ”says David, a native of Hamburg, and adds:“ I have no doubts about the team and I don't think anything will collapse. ”

    -Flick gives Arp update.

    -Streich on 00-Keitel.
"We have to accompany him very carefully so that he stays healthy. He was a lot when he was young and often had long periods of suffering. He did very well against Dortmund and we are happy that we brought another player out of school to the Bundesliga debut ", the trainer was convinced of the qualities of the defensive midfielder.

For this reason, Streich added the following words: "He is not yet one hundred percent, he can build up even more strength. We always have to take small steps now so that he is really stable. He is already good at training with us keep up. "

00 Yeboh interview, seems like he cares more about the team winning and not getting relegated than scoring. VVV seems like a team that doesn't create many attacking chances and more defensive. In 7 games post Winter break, only 1 game they scored 2 and the rest were 0 or 1.

VVV-Venlo also remains unbeaten after seven games in the current calendar year. “I am satisfied with that. We want to maintain this series for as long as possible. I am complete about that. I know the assignment. Next year I will not play here anymore. But I certainly want to leave VVV-Venlo behind while preserving the Eredivisie. I'm going to do everything for that. ” Yeboah still has a contract until mid 2021 with VfL Wolfsburg. “Normally I will return next summer and there I will fight for my place. Although I do not rule out a second year in the Netherlands. But I don't want to think about that yet. I now focus on VVV-Venlo. "
In more than a week and a half, Yeboah, who lives in Düsseldorf ("30 minutes drive to Venlo"), will report to the national team of Germany Under 20. "We are playing two international matches, against Italy and England. Duels that are part of a competition of eight countries (U20 Elite League, which also includes the Netherlands, ed.). We take that very seriously. They are fun duels to gain experience. After that I want to be important again for VVV-Venlo. Saturday we will play at FC Emmen. That is another important competition for us. We cannot relax in the race for class preservation. I am convinced that we succeed in that mission. But it will be nine hearts Spielen this season. "
