My apologies to all for bogging down the Skahan thread with my frustration based Vako rants...nuff said. If you haven't yet, check out all the Skahan Youtube footage. Granted just highlights, and lower comp level, but he looks promising....moves well, quick, body language is very confident...like the photo on the thread...smiling positive confidence...dude wants the ball. Also, sets up his shot well...pretty quick release. Anybody have any news on what the Quakes plan to do regarding his development...possible Reno games or strictly training with the 1st team. Cautiously optimistic we have a player who can help us.
You're obviously not Italian. A frustration based rant is like a daily constitutional around the block. Good for blood flow.
Even assuming that Skahan is really good, he’s a rookie. It is vanishingly unlikely that he’s ready for prime time. I’ll be surprised if we see much of him playing for the Quakes this season. (Wouldn’t mind being wrong.) With luck, we picked him thinking that we want to see serious minutes from him next year. But adding good young players is always a positive. And we’ve got a number ten waiting in the wings, except that we’re playing him at right back. Vako has bursts of greatness, and then long stretches of invisibility. Don’t know what’s up with him, but we pay him too much for what he gives us. Go Quakes!! Fisher OUT!! - Mark
Skahan's chances with the first team are scarce right now, but Reno can always use another qualified player. I'll bet we see him there very soon, especially after their disjointed effort at playing Almeyda's system last weekend.
Reno is trying to play Almeyda's system?...wow, makes sense to get the teams on the same page, but not exactly Russell's preferred style of play...this could get interesting.
Apparently Jack has flown to Tacoma to meet up with Reno tonight, but is expected to be back in SJ on Saturday. Totally makes sense to blood him at Reno to make sure he has the chops for MLS. Again, total homer, but I think after a solid bedding in period, he will be a solid contributor.
It will if the team doesn't pick up the system quickly. Ian has expressed he has little love for the system and is looking at results primarily.

When 90% of the posts in this thread are from the month following his signing, is it really worth it to bump the thread every year just because the dude has a birthday? That's the bare minimum, literally everyone that's alive and not born on leap day has that. It's not soccer related, just pulse related.
Non-birthday post. I thought Jack improved last year (I.e. more impactful, engaged in the run of play, better positioning/decisions). I'm not sure that he will have the opportunity this year, but let's see.
