Yeah very strange we trade him away and re-sign 31 year old, injury prone, Luke Mulholland. Do we really have 0 central mid prospects in the academy.
We had Duke, who we didn't want. We had Dieterich in the NCAA. We had Jordan Pena on the Monarchs (who sat on the bench while Mulholland played for them last year). We had plenty of options, we just didn't care. I am honestly stunned Mulholland is still on the roster. That's the biggest head scratcher of the offseason to me.
and RSL Show just dropped a hint that Luke might have got another season ending injury. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,. The club deserves that
And I keep seeing people talking about Mulholland as if he was brought in to help the Monarchs? What? Like if you're desperate to keep him in the organization for some reason, find him a coaching gig. My mental depth chart was Everton-Kreilach as starters, Beckerman for veteran experience/subs, Besler as a spot starter, which is fine. But then why have Besler AND Portillo AND Mulholland? I would just release Portillo, don't sign Mulholland, and bring in Duke and Pena. If Duke only wants to play for LAFC, then Dieterich or someone else in the academy. It's getting so tough for me to get into the team now. It just feels like nobody with the club has any real ambition.
My little brother played briefly with Duke. He didn't know of any of these "Duke only wanted to play for LAFC" rumors. He did say Duke bounced around quite a bit in youth play, though, so there might be truth to him not having much of a tie/hope to play for RSL. Speaking of RSL & LAFC: The two academies played this weekend at the ZBRA and LAFC ran RSL rampant on the u15s (5-0) and beat the u17s (3-2). The u19s didn't play. You can track the academy schedule here
Just thought here was a good place to put in... I believe what I heard at the NYRB game was a coordinated supporters group. It sounded great.
Speaking of fan experience, what are the odds we get cancelled games for coronavirus concerns? Or games played in an empty stadium? The LDS conference is going to be streamed behind closed doors.
I'm loving the new concession and beer options at the RioT this year but they need to get the lines figured out.
[QUOTE="The LDS conference is going to be streamed behind closed doors.[/QUOTE] ...because the demographic of those presiding and wanting to attend in person are considered most at risk?
Were you able to find any local brews, or anything on tap besides Bud, Bud Light, Shocktop, etc.? I had to pay $11 for a can of Heineken. If that keeps up, I'll have to go back to my college days. get creative and make alternate beverage plans. You're right about the lines. They were nuts, even halfway through the first half of the game.
Just a matter of time. I figure cancellation or empty stadiums will be in place by the end of April. I don't know that they'll suspend games yet, but I can easily see games in empty stadiums. It's the smart thing to do.
Suspended until further notice. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...r-jazz-player-tests-positive-for-coronavirus/
I meant for MLS games. I can see them trying to go with empty stadiums to start, but maybe they will just go all out and suspend the season.
MLS has already said they would rather postpone games than play in empty stadiums. Now that's different than suspending the entire season but they've already stated their intention about playing in empty stadiums: It ain't happenin.
I would imagine, but don’t know for sure, that the MLS TV deals are much, much less lucrative than those for the other leagues. If true then the revenues from the over-inflated concessions are of more importance to MLS clubs. This is a simplistic look at just one factor though.
I thought this thread was fun Career highlight: The BBC had me on for ten minutes discussing the urgency of a Strategic Toilet Paper Reserve. (Click through: Starts at 16 minute point.)https://t.co/auhJF1yfPK— Justin Wolfers (@JustinWolfers) March 6, 2020
Apparently there was something that went viral in social media when China started shutting down. It said that most of our toilet paper is made in China and a massive shortage would hit us within days. Since it was social media of course millions believed it and, here we are.
The red seats at the RioT have begun to show their fade, badly. Don't know if they can be reconditioned to bring back the color or if better to replace. Right now, though, the seats don't really look red. Given cash flow situations this season, I doubt the money is put into that, but it should be done in the next season or two.
