Game day again (finally). I have no skill with technology so no pictures of stadiums or fancy weather reports. Game at Toyota stadium in Frisco, TX 6pm EST, 70° partly cloudy w/0% chance of rain Viewing options PHL17, Philadelphiaunion.com (Philly metro area only), ESPN+ (outside Philly metro area) Officials Referee: Robert Sibiga Assistant Referees: Jason White, Eric Weisbrod 4th Official: Elton Garcia VAR: Kevin Terry Jr. Anybody know how to do a poll? Union 3-2
There is an option to make it a poll when making the originating post of a new thread. That said, I predict a loss. They are still the Union.

What a crappy lineup. Two best defenders aren't playing. At least one is due to injury. Creavalle? Yikes. Aaronson being thrown into the fire at 10. Well...I hope I'm wrong and they somehow win.
Decent first half. Aaronson is getting open a lot. Just need to clean things up in the final third and they’ll be good.
McKenzie and new guy just starting at the Dallas striker as he rockets a grounder by Blake. Sad. Bring back Elliott.
Are we reverse Aaron Wheeler-ing Jack Elliott? Do I get a veto stamp? I'm pretty unimpressed by the guy that apparently is replacing him at RCB. Hopefully Jim lets Jack have his spot back.
Just like that CB (whose name I can't remember) that Hackworth tried to convert into a striker. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Santos looked like crap. Glasnes was ehh and gave up the first goal. Sure it's only the first game, but if we want the team to improve, they have to start winning the first game of the season and winning away games.
Ain't gonna cry over a road loss to a western team. Wasn't too long ago we'd never beaten Dallas. Plenty of food for thought for the coaches, but you'd hope that was what preseason was for. Guess it made clear the biggest issue is the loss of creativity Haris could provide. Obviously Creavalle ain't giving you that. Who knows what the new guy can do.
Honestly, Sergio Santos needs to be sat down and told he's a goddamn adult and professional soccer player. The little tap he gave to Dallas' GK as he was laying there with the ball was unprofessional and deserving of a yellow card. Santos' constant jawing at the ref damned near got him a red. Santos wasn't alone in being trash, Kacper did nothing tonight and like others, my mind is still BLOWN that both Creavalle and Gaddis are starting on this team in 2020. If this team is going to roll with Creavalle going forward, you might as well have kept Medujnanin because at least he gave you some offensive prowess going forward.
Elliott at striker?! Creavalle starting over both Oravec and Martinez (neither even in the 18)? Nobody on the bench worth bringing in? This could be a long season.
I think missing Wagner had the most impact. I can live with a Creavalle in font of the d if you have a back (or 2) who can effectively push up. Real was fine but he doesn't have the push Wagner does.
While I'm no Creavalle fan, can you imagine the score with Haris in there against a fast counterattacking team? It would have been 5-0.
I’m not usually a nega-delphian, but that 18 last night was the exact same team as last year minus Haris and Fabian. Seems like the roster has regressed if Oravec and Martinez can’t contribute something.
As per usual...over reactions a plenty round here. It's the first f'n game! Anyone remember how terrible they played in the first two games last season? I member! I also recall Matt Doyle crying that the sky was falling and that the Union wouldn't succeed with Harris at the 6..... The game was a lot closer than the 2-0 score would indicate. The second goal was scored when the Union pushed everyone up to try to tie the game. Those things happen. Wooten was an injury scratch. Wagner was out with injury too. The midfield wasn't terrible with Creavale in. Was it ideal? No. Will he be the starter all season? Doubtful. Glesnes was ok in his first MLS game. Elliot was injured in preseason and not quite 90 minute ready. They do need to go out and get another attacking midfield player though. When Arronson is gone with the U23 team, there will be a sizable void in the attacking third. If they are still playing like this 8 games in.....that'll be really bad. That said, anyone who expected more than a point from the first two games of this season, really needs to put down the optimism juice. 0 PTS from this opening road swing was always the most likely outcome.
Wagner is hurt. So I’ll give them something for that. Santos was channeling Fabian...more jawing than scoring. Kacper took 45 minutes to get going. Disappointed at how little chemistry existed in the final third. Corners were mostly high lobs that scared nobody.
They haven't converted a corner kick since September 15, 2018, and it involved two players who are no longer with the team. I wonder how that compares to rest of the league, and also what the longest CK conversion drought in league history is? https://www.brotherlygame.com/2019/10/4/20897160/philadelphia-union-corner-kick-struggles-concern
