Wait. So are RBNY good are are CIN clueless? Duncan finishes the harder shot in the same spot in the box.
I would too judging on last year, but I think people start asking too many questions in week 1. Atlanta finished second in the East last year and didn't win till week 5. Union were third and started the season with 2 losses. SKC was 2-1-2 through 5 and had ole'd Toluca off the field in CCL and blasted Montreal 7-1; they'd go on to finish 21st in the league. And that is ignoring New England and Colorado and what they did. So, really, we shouldn't even start asking if a team is good or not for at least a month.
Two RBNY players wide open to finish the second goal. Seems like suspicious defending. And I dont know if it is refreshing due to my Kasey Keller announcing PTSD, but the commentators not harping on bad defending (tough they could) and instead saying good job to the attackers is nice to hear.
But FCC isn't very good, we can agree on that? I know in large part why it has started this way for them, but they look worse than last season so far today.
Well, FCC was suspect defensively last year. So the fixed that by adding.....no new defenders and putting Medunjanin in there as a deep lying playmaker. As a Union fan I can tell you he can do some real good offensive work from there. He does nothing defensively though. So zone 14 is going to be wide open for teams to run through unless Cruz drops back (as I doubt that is in Amaya's skillset). Yes. Yes we can. Can probably agree on Vancouver too. If a team doesn't fix their shortcomings in the off-season they likely aren't going to be any better the following year. Sounds strange, I know.
And I imagine they are using the plans made ready by the recently departed coach as well, so while that may have affected player moral I don't think it can be blamed** for the tactical decisions.
Here's something interesting from the NYRB team site on MLSSoccer.com: a Fraud Warning about people offering pay-for trials with the club.
I will say that all Crew fans can blame me for any struggles your team has this year. I actually really like the make-up of the team and you guys were 25 to 1 odds for both winning the East and winning the cup. Had a couple free bets so I dropped them on you guys. Considering my luck with anything, y'all are screwed.
It seems like a message from the Soccer Gods to Ryan Meara that maybe he should move to a different team. He sat behind Luis Robles for six or seven years; Robles moves on, and in the first game of the new season, he's a bit injured and not even in the 18. Of course, he moved to the other NY team a few years ago, got a whopping one start, and came back to NYRB. So maybe that isn't what the Soccer Gods are communicating. Is this Danish GK Jensen in to push Meara or be the starter?
Really bad defending on that whole chance. You could see the goal coming from 40 yards away. Inexplicable breakdown.
No one knows. The message coming out of the Robles departure was that they wanted to cut salary at GK and were confident in Meara, and then they went and signed a foreign goalkeeper with a mixed track record. It would be weird if they signed Jensen as the backup, but nothing suggests to me that he's going to be any good.
I was actually talking to my parents about Sinclair earlier so this isn't the first time I've had the opportunity to say "******** Sinclair" today.
