I see that although St. Peter's, on their women's soccer page, still includes Melissa Sherwood, she no longer is in the Athletics Directory, so I guess this is confirmed as vacant.

Arkansas Pine Bluff and Jacksonville U still need to be on the Vacant list, so far as I know.

I'm with "confirmed?" as they still don't list Constable as coach on the JU women's soccer page or on the Staff Directory and Nova still lists him on their women's soccer page and Staff Directory. I assume what's been posted here is right but there's no confirmation yet from either school.

He'll be announced mid march I believe. Nothing to support my claim but I promise it's true!

outside of going from DII to DI is Jacksonville a better job than Nova? I would think living in Ft Lauderdale is a little nicer too.

seems like a bunch of DII positions are open at the moment. People making the jump to DI.

Texas should be hot. Somehow the coach has some time left on their contract, but that seat should be on fire. The second she leaves and they bring in a competent head coach that program will be fantastic.

Big difference in the cost of living. If you want to live in a nice area in South Florida, you have to pay, and if you have kids, and want good public schools, even more! It would be hard to live in the Fort Lauderdale area if you aren’t making six (plus) figures, and a coach at Nova isn't making six figures. You get a lot more for your $65,000 a year in the Jacksonville area! Both nice places to be, but as long as Jacksonville can survive as a D-I athletic program, it’s a good stepping stone to move on from.

It is open. One of my former club players was being recruited by her, and when contact broke off she call the athletic department and was told the coach was no longer employed at the school. The position is now posted on the St. Peter's HR page.

Add Dixie State to the list! They start their division 1 transition next fall, so pretty much qualifies as a division 1 job.

    Anyone know where he landed?

What about UMD? Leone is approaching year 5 and I don't recall any talk of an extension. There are signs of life I guess. .500 Big record and first-ever conf tournament bid although they lost 0-3. There were a few impressive games. New stadium coming should make UMD an even better P5 destination. They've underperformed since Pensky left for sure.

    ?

Steve Golas currently is listed as coach both on the Dixie State women's soccer roster page and in the Athletic Department directory. Do you have information that he no longer will be the coach?

Bellarmine and UC San Diego also are starting Division 1 this year, and it appears their coaches likewise will be continuing.

No chance Furman goes D3, solid school and funding with good sports.
FIU is burnt down, not even hot, that will for sure open up.

The odds on Furman going D3 are tiny but don’t be completely surprised if it happens (I’m not talking about it happening soon..). Athletics are no longer allowed to stack athletic and academic monies and there is a rumor that available scholarships have be cut across the board - women’s soccer supposedly lost a couple of scholarships. While these changes might seem minor, they are steps that could be construed as a precursor to a bigger, more dramatic change.

IMO, these four programs have coaches that are not at the level to be coaching D-I and are doing the worst job in all of D-I. Of all, the worst to me is FIU, they should be playing for a championship in that conference every year. An average coach could do well and FIU and Nevada.

FIU, Nevada, Valparaiso and Indiana State

Seems a little harsh saying they are doing the worst job in the country. I don't really know the coaches well enough to judge them but I do know a little bit about the history of Indiana State and Nevada and know that they have cycled coaches through there and no one has won. Nevada hasn't been above .500 since 2006 or so and Indiana State hasn't been above .500 in this century so it's not like they took over winning programs and destroyed them. A lot of different people have found ways to struggle there. They may very well be in over their head and you obviously know them, so I won't try to defend the people involved. Certainly can't argue that all the programs struggled to get results. I just struggle with the idea that an average coach could do well there when so many have tried. Obviously takes a little something...

FIU and Valpo are a little different because they have had some more recent success. No idea what is going on at Valpo and it's hard to have any mitigating thoughts about 3 wins in 3 years at FIU.

Ohio St not hot. For now. Walker has 2 more years to finish her contract extension and then see what happens. They only won 4 games last year, against Miami OH, Ohio, Maryland, and Michigan St. Pretty pathetic for her and her staff. At one of the biggest revenue athletic departments as well. Can’t do that again for next 2 seasons.

Miami not hot. Barnes only two seasons in. But would think during years 3-5 would have to show progress. Had a big advantage at GW over other Atlantic 10 opponents with the support and backing there. Not quite the same situation at Miami against other ACC opponents.

Texas not hot either. They shouldn’t be done in the first round of the NCAAs like they have done the last 2 years. Sweet 16 in 2017 is worth noting. But if they do underachieve for next 2 years then it gets warm.

I give walker credit. Have a stinker of a year straight after you sign your contract extension so you’re safe.

the Kentucky renewal is such a head scratcher.
