Watch list Goal keepers Orange team

  1. Nope, he's according to Voetbal International stats (iirc, could be another medium) a top 5 valuable player.

Would you move post 25 to the watch list midfielders thread and posts 26-27 to the watchlist attackers to keep the thread clean on topic?
I already quoted the posts these were a reaction on to those threads, so the logic of the posts are kept intact.

I think Cillessen has been battling with an injury (hip?) - hence he's not in the Valencia squad, not even on the bench. That said, he will have a tough battle getting his job back in the starting lineup, as his backfill Domenech seems to be doing well.

Funny enough... this is not an unchartered territory. He was a bench-filler at Barcelona, and Koeman still went with him. The difference is that now there are other GK options who are arguably making a strong push, e.g. Krul, Bizot, and Bijlow.

I saw this on Twitter about AZ no. 1. Bizot for Oranje!

    Saturday: Buried his father
Sunday: Kept a clean sheet against Ajax in 2-0 win
Massive respect for AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper Marco Bizot! What a performance tonight given the circumstances. Tonight was his 16th clean sheet of the season.

  7. Iirc he had a clean sheet against all top 3 clubs and AZ won them all.
AZ has both Feyenoord and PSV at home to play left.

Tim Krul saved 2 penalties in the PK shootout to send Norwich City through the next round in the FA Cup... at the expense of Tottenhan Hotspur. Vorm was Spurs' GK. I wouldn't mind seeing Krul in the Euro 2020 squad - he is good at saving PK's!!

  9. Tim is a hero. I hate the Totally Hotshits.

Krul deserved to be 1 of 3 NT goalkeepers due to his PK saving alone. What a performance! Just go back and watch NT-Costa Rica PK in 2014 to see how good he is.

  11. Ahem, he would be yellow and then red carded by competent refs. He was about a meter from the line when the kicker hit the ball.
    Twice!

The most amazing part was that Krul guessed and dived correctly 5 out of 5... somebody certainly did his homework! And of course, his antics harassing the shooters. Gold! Somebody captured Krul's entire movement during that shootout.

Norwich City, barring last-minute miracle, are going to be relegated. Bummer for Krul... maybe he would get lucky and sold, and find himself staying in the top flight.

Also just noticed that Cillessen was on the bench for Valencia yesterday (lost his starting job?)

    Paging Marco Bizot.

I will reserve Krul for the 3rd spot just because of his PK skills and because the #1 keeper Cillessen is not good at PK. Without the antics, his decision/guess on PK clearly shows how good he is.

Oranje goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen ends his first season at Valencia by being named in Marca‘s flop eleven of the season – a team of players deemed disappointing in La Liga’s 19/20 campaign.

He is also reportedly made available for sale. Ugh.:confused:

Valencia is going after Bizot to replace the flop Cillessen. Moving to Spain (and hopefully playing consistently) will only accelerate Bizot’s ascent to Oranje no.1  Sevilla is also reportedly interested.

  17. Bizot should be removed in favour of Bijlow. Bizot idiocy costed AZ dearly last year twice at least, which amounts to 40 million loss for AZ as they would have been solely on spot one.
What he was doing today against Sparta was baffling. I don't want him as a back up keeper for the Orange squad.

What about Joel Drommel? Every time i saw him he made a good impression. I think he deserves a chance in Oranje.

He's behind Justin Bijlow, who actually deserves to get passed Bizot atm.

Stekelenberg had a very good World Cup in 2010.

Both Bijlow and Drommel are better than Bizot!

True, but that was a one-off. He kinda disappeared after 2010

It's depressing that current Oranje GK's are a bench player (Cillessen), playing in a lower league (Krul), and leaking goals left and right (Bizot). :speechless:

It's time for new bloods... bring in Bijlow and Drommel. Both are among the GK's with least conceded so far in Eredivisie - and their respective clubs are in the top 5, albeit early in the season. Paes, Dutch U21, has also been recently promoted to Utrecht no. 1.
