It was an impressive outlier for sure. FYI - 2019 had one of the coldest days in recorded history (Temperatures broke records, with the coldest temperature ever recorded at −30 °F (−34 °C) on January 31, 2019) - I guess that means global warming isn't happening.
Bsky, you really need to let reality break through the cocoon of wishes and dreams you wrap yourself in when it comes to the era of JK. It was exactly what we saw in the world cup, from a weakened and disjoint Ghana team [nowhere near the one that bested us in the Round of 16 in 2010], to a Portugal that couldn't decide if the point was to integrate CR into the team or simply sit back and let him save the team, to a Germany that coasted by us with minimal effort, to a Belgium that overwhelmed us all over the field and who required Tim Howard's greatest performance, ever, to make it not an embarrassment that would have rivalled Germany-Brasil in that tournament, that brought judgement upon Juergen. As for your accusation that those who brought judgment "went around collecting antidotes" let me just say that the antidote I keep at hand is one against the effects of toxic unreason. [Yes, yes, I'm sure you meant "anecdotes". But I believe in respecting a man's word for what he meant, until that moment he tells us otherwise]
You guys lost your mind when your player was left off and were unable to watch the games without looking for reasons to go after the coach. I enjoyed 2014 more than the two previous iterations where we looked soft going out to Ghana. Every team we faced in 2014 was better than faced in 2010... Germany > England, Portugal > Slovenia, Ghana > Algeria, and Belgium > Ghana. You people are too little to try to understand and move on. If it wasnt for you people, what has happened since 2016 would never have occurred. I dont operate where everybody is great or evil. I dont have any attachment to JK, but just liked the idea of an outsider doing things different so things could change. You guys deserve Arena, Sarqchan, and Berhalter. All your arguments are just narratives that a bunch of idiots strung together. Ghana was imploding, while they played very well in their first two games. Howard made a bunch of saves, while the team put in a heroic effort that day and came close to upsetting them.
we seem to both be impressed with their run.... do you also agree with this statement: it is an outlier when a team with significant minor league players makes the WC quarterfinals?
I would assume there’s mostly going to be more top five league talent on quarterfinal rosters than what Costa Rica had.
