HAHA those arrogant pricks got it. And there ain't no more favorable calls like there used to me. PK and red card. That oughta do it! Now let's go Sunday and burn these bitches at the Bernabeu again!
The LPB forum is surprisingly optimistic. Quite funny and sad at the same time. I'm not the most optimistic person in general, but no-way do they come back from this. You're no Ajax. In related news, some guy actually posted this in the Madrid forum: "END OF AN ERA". (with the caps-lock on) Huh? Did I miss something? An era of what? Winning as many Ligas as your cross-town rivals?
The calls today .... Right: - No foul from Jesus on Ramos in Man City's goal. Two hand contact on back, but wasn't a push or charge. - PK on Carvajal ... yes Sterling looks for contact and is already going down before touched, but this PK is always given. Hazard's PK the other day was even less than this. Wrong: - No foul from Vjr on Mahrez right in front of Man City's goal. Most likely ends in a goal. - Red card for Ramos ... the "shoulder tug" wasn't enough. As much as even a little in this situation would be a foul, don't feel it was enough to even slightly break Jesus stride. Ramos however asked for it for that quasi shoulder tug. I'd think VAR should have made the ref review it.
I was wrong to criticize Pep. It worked. Jesus played well that they didn't really miss Aguero. Sterling was fantastic when he came on though. Should have started. LPB could come back but their chances of progressing now are maybe 10% whereas before today they were ~50%.
Sterling is not healthy for 90 mins. Presumably. Honestly I didn't think Man City were doing that good until beginning of 2nd half. But then Madrid scored the goal and Man City looked lost until the equalizer. Madrid were better to score the 2nd until that happened. Probably that's Pep finally adapting. Didn't want to concede loads of goals like previous years by exposing his shit defense. It worked ... but almost didn't. That's football. With Sterling on they should be better in the 2nd leg. They shit on Pep. They shit on Ajax. Both come in their home and beat them. That's gotta hurt. Let's finish the job like last year.
I will hold on joking about Ronaldo since he could easily score a traditional, header, PK, tap in hat-trick at home.
Some say Carvajal and Casemiro gifted the game ignorance ring that Madrid’s goal also came from a Man city midfield fuk up .
I mean Celta and Levante were part of the easier schedule Real has Schedule wise except for EL Clasico Barca has Sevilla + Villareal away while Real has La Real + Athletic Bilbao. Also Celta away for Barca Real has Valencia at home (after City second leg) while Barca has A Madrid Not very different PS It will be fun seeing Asspanyol vs Real this year because this year they cannot afford the traditional spread your cheeks for Real
Atleti and Sevilla stand out for me among the remaining fixtures after this weekend. Of course points can be dropped anywhere by either LPB or Barca, but for these 2 matches dropped points is more likely than not.
Great start to the Ajax v Getafe match. 1-1 on the night, 3-1 Getafe on aggregate. Van der Beek on fire. Should be an interesting next 80 minutes!
Portugal being dumped out en mass... - Braga yesterday. - Porto convincingly today. - Sporting in the dying minutes of extra-time. Benfica currently all square on aggregate at home v Waxtap.
Should be a terrible last 45 minutes of non-stop feigned injuries and time stalling from Getafe. The last game in Madrid almost took the record and was the game with the 2nd least actual playing time in Europa League history. Only 43 minutes actually spent played. That being said I don't think Ajax would have won this anyway. The team is nothing compared to what it was earlier this season after being absolutely ravished by injuries. Ajax has been failing in the Eredivisie as well the past weeks. Neres out, Promes out, Ziyech out, Labyad out, Veltman out and Tagliafico out for this game. The attack has been absolutely destroyed by injuries which has forced Ten Hag to give a youth player his debut this game (Danilo) and to purchase a fairly average Ryan Babel as backup. Last game against Getafe Ziyech was rushed back from his injury and was absolutely terrible all game and immediately injured again after. Really puts into perspective how much 'fortune' is needed for a team like Ajax to make a run like they did last year. Even if you have a great team, you still need to have luck with not having significant injuries, not getting ********ed over by refs, etc.
No extra time as Benfica scores. 3-1 on the night. 4-3 on aggregate. Still a long way to go. EDIT: And just like that Shakhtar scores. Away goals puts them through at the moment.
I get the feeling Jesus should have stayed on his feet and gone for the 3rd Ramos was not catching him
The first half red card definitely changed the United-Brugge tie. Easy for them. Farcenal is so bad. Struggling against Olympiacos. 1-1 agg, will go to ET as it stands.
Sevilla very unimpressive. Barely got through on away goals against Cluj. As mentioned Getafe beat a very injury-ravaged Ajax. Spanish teams not impressing in Europe.
