There are plenty of tickets available for Saturday, and a lot of tickets available above the suites in the 200s which are also priced lower than the last 2 years. Maybe reduced interest in paying for nice (but not premium) ticket to watch a match without Rooney?
That's not crazy. The 2019 LuchaRoo was ineffective anyway. This could be a legit or better MLS front four backed by some quality in midfield. As has been stated repeatedly depth is an issue, but it's not out of the question that the FO will still bring in reinforcements before the trade deadline and in the summer window. I might be naively optimistic but I'm not ready to write 2020 off yet, even it it takes these guys a little time to gel right out of the gate.
DMF Mohammed Abu has arrived at Audi Field, formal acquisition by D.C. United from Valerenga in Norway is imminent. #dcu #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) February 27, 2020
Have you seen the terms of his deal? The price they're paying is so low, it doesn't matter what kind of shape he's in.
Roughly league minimum salary, here on a free loan, 1 year contract (with options), green card so will not take up an international spot.
Still no word that Sorga has been added to the roster. Goff said a few days ago that visa and contract issues were being sorted out and his promotion to the roster was "imminent."
They also asked for a bag of balls, and Kasper replied, "WHY DON'T YOU JUST TAKE THE FOOD RIGHT OUT OF MY CHILDREN'S MOUTHS???" Allegedly.
If I had to take a stab with the 4-3-3 United trotted out against Philly last weekend: Hamid Mora Birnbaum Brillant Canouse Moreno Flores Martins Segura Kamara Gressel Subs: Seitz, Odoi-Atsem, Fisher, Asad, Boateng, Yow, Sorga (and if not Sorga, Paredes or Nyeman) Arriola and Pines are hurt, they won't dress Edwards, and I dunno if they'd put Abu straight into the 18, even if they announce his signing today.
Is Asad recovering from injury? If not, I would expect him to start. And has Sorga completed all the necessary paperwork to make the senior team?
He is recovering from injury. He only played 30 minutes last weekend, so I really doubt he'll start. Haven't heard anything about Sorga yet.
Have you recently cut the cord? We'll be live-streaming all local broadcast matches on the #DCU website free of cost, including our season opener. #VamosUnited— D.C. United (@dcunited) February 28, 2020
Win/Win I guess if you aren’t getting paid for rights, it doesn’t matter if you offer up the content for free locally. I’m assuming there’s a geofence. Thx, Jay!
There is, I just tested it with my NH zip code. It told me to stream via ESPN+, which I was planning to do anyway.
Erik Sorga's contract upgrade and visa have been approved and he'll be in the 18 today #dcu #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) February 29, 2020

Pretty sure I’m watching the HD Rapids broadcast synced to the DC audio through my sound bar. Thx, Jay!
Who wants to help Olsen pack his shit. Leave now and take any dignity and goodwill you happen to have left.
How many times did anyone get him the ball anywhere near the box? He wqs reduced to fighting for long balls ans drifting wide. There was no link from midfield to attack.
This is a recurring theme for the 10 years I’ve been following this team. I’d love to see them embrace it. Buy two physical bruisers and lump the ball to them, at least then it would look like they have a plan.
