Madrid back to R16 dropouts would be great. Specially at the hands of Pep who they make fun of so much. These guys were literally making fun of the way Ajax played the other day who knocked them out of the CL just last season. Joke is on them .

Madrid will knock out City and that'll probably be for the best considering the likes of Sane and Laporte are back for City soon. Very likely City will only get stronger from here on in, it's best they're knocked out now.

Not sure how the whole game went but Bayern's goals looked fantastic regardless of the strength of opposition. And without "cough" Coutinho "cough". They definitely turned their season around.

Of note ... Alonso got a red card today for the same exact thing Ramos pulled off on Suarez a few years ago but got away with a yellow.

Looked fantastic on that 3rd goal. Proof that you don't need to break the bank to find good players specially ones. They just need to fit the role they are placed in.

Zidane just said Pep is the best coach. That's the death blow. He said the same about R9 when France played Brazil. Man City going out ...

I can't get over that last name. Sounds so weird in Portuguese. Trinca means crack ... so Trincão would mean big crack.

City keeping all of Cancelo, Fernandinho, Sterling, and Aguero on the bench. What the F is Pep smoking with that starting lineup? They might actually get wrecked. Don't see where the goals will come from with no Sterling or Aguero. Baffling decisions from Pep...

Cancelo rarely starts ahead of Walker and Sterling is just returning from injury, so no surprise with those two decisions. and Fernandinho will probably come on for Laporte, who is also returning from injury. Benching Aguero is strange though.

    .

If Sterling is healthy you start him. If he isn't then don't play him at all. Simple as that. In a game of this magnitude you play your best lineup not average dudes like Gungogan and Rodrigo who will get destroyed by the Madrid midfield. And no Aguero is straight up retarded.

To be fair Aguero has been a bit underwhelming in CL if I am not mistaken.

If they get a PK I hope he figured out somebody good to take it.

Clueless manager who is used to coaching mid-table teams. In over his head with big clubs. Doesn’t know how to use big name established players. He was lucky to win those league titles. He needs to go and the board needs to go! Elections need to take place this summer not next year. I’m tired of this sh......

    Wait... (checks thread title)...
My bad. Thought this was the Season thread. I’ve heard that tune so often it’s stuck in my head.

    Ilker is not average.

I don't understand what's so strange over the concept that maybe a 100% Mahrez is better than a 75% Sterling(?). They have an embarrassment of riches up front, no need to start a guy that's not fully fit.

    I'm more worried about Otamendi.

People expecting fireworks here but this matchup a few years ago was a borefest.
