I wholeheartedly agree with the 1st paragraph which makes it all the more disappointing that he can't stay healthy.

Regarding the 2nd paragraph, I certainly see some similarities between the two... but I firmly believe CP is a winger now... not a midfielder.... which is where I see Ziyech playing. As an interesting aside... I know they are both slight but when I looked up their body weights for a comparison I noticed that Google is reporting that CP is substantially heavier than he was when the season started. They list him at 5'8" 154... I think they listed him at around 140 at the start of the season. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle.... but I hope it means that CP has been packing on good pounds this season.... because he needs to work on getting muscled off the ball.

Lol. I just want to be clear that none of us knows what's going on inside Frank's head. But also I know what's going inside Frank's head.

Christian Pulisic hasn’t played soccer since 1/1/2020.

it looks like it could go well into March.

    this is disappointing

To start the season, Lamps played Pulisic for more than 70 minutes in 3 of 4 games,. and 23 in the 4th.
That is called being given a chance. Lamps apparently was not pleased, as he didn't put Pulisic in the next three games, then in the 8th game of their season, Puli got 10 minutes. Lamps followed up those 10 by giving Pulisic 23 in the next outing, then 8 games in which he got at least 65, including 4 in which he got 90.
Again, that would seem to say he was pleased, it was an extended run.
He played in 14 of their first 17 league matches, and four of the first six CL matches.
Pulisic hasn't played much at all in the most recent 10 matches, but he has been officially listed as injured or rehabbing from injury for most of those, and is still not fully fit.
The people on here saying Lamps isn't giving Pulisic a chance have an odd definition of chance. As for how he should be managing the player recently, exactly what can anyone do with an injured, rehabbing player?

Even before his injury he was getting fewer minutes than Mason, though.

Anyone knows whether there is a set-back with CP injury?...A week ago, he was supposedly training and playing matches with the u23 alongside Cheeks to get fit...but now, it feels like we're not hearing much about that at all while Cheeks made the bench last match.

Hopefully, he's at least training with u23 and running around.

They weren't playing the same position
Um can someone fact check this? Because this guy seems to cherrypick things to fit his "woe is Pulisic" narrative. Pulisic was given an extended run of starts as soon as he started to show he was in form. People were even complaining Frank was playing him TOO much. I do remember Mount being benched for awhile too, as well as CHO.

I would go so far as to say it was a spectacular day for the wunderkind Pulisic! Absolute magic! Incredible scenes at Stamford Bridge!

You could not write a better script!

CP was getting a ton of minutes once he started to produce... more than Mount for roughly two months. It all started to unravel when he scored that header right before he was to be subbed off. He may have hit the post... not sure, but I think they said it was his hip. The current injury came afterwards and happened in training. In short, when CP was hot he was playing more than Mount... but CP can't stay healthy and Mount can. While Mount isn't producing the scoring stats at a fantastic rate... at least he can be counted on to play every week. I can recall at least two times this season where he got hurt in a game and it looked bad for him yet he is always right back on the pitch. If only CP were half as resilient.

All the facts you need are on this thread already. You can check back and see the numbers, and how people were complaining about it.

Or you can go to Transfermarkt. There's no reason to ask others to do your homework.

Yeah this was my observation as well. Sometimes durability is as valuable as end product. For as frustrating as Willian is, the guy is in his 30s and still is ready to put in a 90 minute shift twice a week when called upon.

Robben had a great career but I would say he leaned more towards injury prone than durable.

Yeah, think of the Americans who have done well in the Premier league: McBride, Dempsey, Howard, Kasey, Friedel, Bocanegra. That's a pretty tough group.

I think CP still has time to get there, strength and fitness wise. But yeah, it's so frustrating because when he's in form, he is impactful.

If we discount the bedding in period early on and the more recent injury, rehab, injury, rehab, Mount has 50 minutes more than Pulisic over the course of the league. Pulisic has 78 more CL minutes (when both were available, and again, post bedding in).
