Yes, Schmidt is injured. Dont know how serious.

Hope Yuma will Score 12-15 goals this season and maybe he can start to produce some assists either. Anyway Solid First Europe season so far, in a time to time struggling team.

I saw the match, Matsubara was atrocious unfortunately. Maybe he was nervous but he was really clueless all game.

It was his debut and maybe he tried to overwork things.

    What about Yuma?

He had an average game, but hopefully he should be able to clear the season in double digit

The club appointed Kevin Muscat as their new head coach, Muscat served as Melbourne Victory manager for 6 seasons from 2013 to 2019, in which he coached Keisuke Honda last season, and won the Austrlian league title twice, finished runners-up once, and in third place once.

He managed to win the Austrailan FFA Cup once in that period, and led Melbourne Victory to the knockout stages of Asian Champions League for the first time in their history in 2016.

In the four seasons the team played in ACL under his supervision, they managed to record wins against Yokohama F Marinos, Gamba Osaka, Kawaski Frontale, Guangzhou Evergrande, and Shanghai SIPG (twice).

He also served as Melbourne Victory's assistant coach for 4 seasons from 2009 to 2013, during which he worked under the supervision of current Yokohama F Marinos head coach Ange Postecoglou from 2012 to 2013.

Seems promising on paper for Japanese players, given he already had experience coaching Honda, and playing against 4 different Japanese clubs in ACL

Yes, according to Transfermarkt he was loaned from Gamba Osaka to Twente for a year which ends on 30th and afterward he's loaned to STVV for one year again.

Good for him. He is a player with potential, going back to the J League immediately might be a waste. Since there are rumors that the Belgian League might merge with the Dutch League, it might not be a step down for him when he is not playing in the Dutch League.

Not sure what's going on, but Yuma Suzuki hasn't played any pre season game at all. I'm wondering if he's about to be sold. Schmidt also hasn't played so far but I think he is still injured.
Tatsuya Ito (who scored a brace today against Beveren), Keito Nakamura and Ko Matsubara both started several games.
The teams seems oriented to play 4-3-3 this season which I think is great news for both the offensive guys.
I think Matsubara is unlikely to be a starter at the moment, while the other two have decent chances (obviously if Keito is used on the left, either him or Ito starts)

I agree with your points about if the team will play with a wide formation it will suit both Nakamura and Ito.

Suzuki startred today in the friendly against Eupen. Schmidt started on the bench. I think both had/have fitness problems.

Nakmura scored Sint Truiden second goal in a 2-2 draw.

P.S. add Nakamura to the names on the thread's title.

This is a relief (Suzuki's appearance) because to be completely honest, Balongo and Nazon suck as first strikers. Not so sure about Colidio on the right in the 4-3-3 but it seems this is how it'll go.

    Thank you.

It is hard to watch Japanese players playing in Belgium and Netherlands, as regional/national broadcasters rarely air these leaguea. Unlike the top 5 leagues + Portugese league, where you can subscribe to any legal service anywhere in the world to watch them.

I believe most of us here are living outside Japan.
Even in Europre there is a limited coverage of Belgium and Netherlands leagues outside these two countries .
