This man has earned himself the bench, can't complain.

    Yep, bench today too.

Following closely to see if Nova becomes the Third Yank in Europe this weekend to score a win (after Chandler & Fabian).

https://twitter.com/Frosinone1928 their Twitter account seems very devoid of personality. Maybe a bot? 0-0 start of the second

I've seen worse. Italians are more passionate when talking, not when typing, IME.

And Citro scores, 0-1 Frosinone. Nova not involved.

    About to end.

The Good: Nova is trying to take markers on the dribble one on one.

The Bad: He invariably loses the ball when he does.

The Ugly: I watched 90 minutes of Serie B.

Actually Nova has an important role with his team, reason why he plays and is not even subbed: he's the pressure relief valve, the one guy who stays up top even when the rest of the team is in full defensive mode.

Since he's so tall, he forces the tall CBs of the rivals to stay honest, ready to get him in case a ball gets to him. Anyone who watches Serie B, where most games are about as closed as a chess match using the Caro-Kann, knows the usual way these teams break the other's defense is by having the tall CBs come rushing forward for a header.

With Nova on the field in his role of Slenderman bothering the defense, that's not happening to Frosinone, who are well-placed at this point to play the promotion playoffs.

Played 90 and had a shot of the post in a 1 - 0 win.

Well enough. It'd be better if he scored, but he has a mission and follows it through.

He's really bad at aiming shots. If he were shooting skeet, he'd be a public danger.

It's a tragedy that having some accuracy is basically the must-have thing for his job.

Came on early for a striker who had already picked up a yellow. Not sure if it was a rage sub or injury-related.

1-0 win for Frosinone that takes them up to 3rd, level on points with Spezia for the second automatic promotion place.

Goal and an assist for Andrija right now - and it's only the first half

If Frosinone finishes in 2nd, they'd get automatic promotion to Serie A

Sounds a lot like Olivier Giroud's role on the French National team.

The trick is translating his usefulness into a good first division.

He picked the right club when it comes to potentially back dooring a shot in a top 4 league, which he wasn't receiving directly. Frosinone are on pace to get promoted.

I don't think Novakovich is the type of player who a top league is clearly beyond his pay-grade. He has holes, but talent, and is an all-rounder. That's what his manager is alluding to.

His biggest strength is probably his dribbling, which would be best used as a wing fw, but he gets typecast as a cf because of his height. If the manager wants to play a new style like he proclaims, have him long-striding passed short fb's and beating them in the air at the back post.

Sounds similar to how Allegri deployed Mario Mandzukic when we went to the CL final in 2017.

    ------------------Buffon
    Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini-Alex Sandro
    ------------Khedira--Pjanic
    Dani Alves---Dybala---Mandzukic
    ----------------Higuain

Mandzukic would crush people on the far post cross from Alves and Dybala. What separated Mandzukic though was his workrate defensively. If Nova could work for the team and provide in the build-up, he could carve himself a spot and hopefully the goals will come.
