It seems like the shot was too fast for him to catch and he was also too far from the post.
what i found weird was how come Modric was the one defending that run from the attacker

    How is that weird?

Our entire defensive line was further forward. Modric was doing good work following a runner.

It was Varane who doesn't understand what an offside trap means who made that play.

We keep saying this is the worst Barcelona side in years and that we must win the title but it seems we aren’t really better.

The squad is dead. Benzema and Kroos had their resurgence but we need to move on. Banging my head against the wall regarding the lack of interest in Haaland. But to be fair, Jovic was supposed to be our guy. Ramos needs to go, Carvajal at least needs competition, two midfielders and an absolute don of a striker. Zidane also needs to stop freezing people out. Brahim and Mariano would have be of use today but you just don't hear from them.

I guess this is the part of the season where we hand over the title to Barcelona. Seriously, it’s the same shit every season. Games like this are why we have 2 league titles in 10 years. Honestly, after what the team showed against Celta and Levante, I don’t have much hope for the next two games. Hope I’m wrong but it’s looking like a copy of last season where we crashed out of all competitions in a couple of weeks.

Ramos is still fine for 2-3 more years and needs to retire with us. He is still the soul of the team.

The goal was 100% on Courtois, the ball was well struck but there's no way that should go in over the head of a guy who is the height of an NBA power forward.

Just inexcusable stuff over the last 2 weeks.

Among other things, the midfield -- which had been dominant -- completely lost control of the game around the 65th minute and ZZ did jack shit about it.

And for all of the tilting of the field, we really have no ideas in the final third. Cross, cutback, cross, cutback, cross, cutback, cross, cutback, cross, cutback ... cutback, cross... Hazard showed some rare creativity, but overall he was good but not good enough.

Zidane ********ed up the starting lineup in the last three matches. Last night, he got the right players for most parts. I probably would have started the same lineup. But the team looked unmotivated.

In life, you reward successes and punish failure. It is everything in life, not just sport. Brahim did well. He disappeared. Isco played poorly against Atletico Madrid. Then, he started again the following week against Osauna. He played well and disappeared the next week against Celta. Jovic got plenty of PT when he was not playing well. He scored a goal.... he never saw any minute since. I did not even see his name on the squad. Lucas scored a goa against Osasuna... he also disappeared on the next match. Bale got the start over him. Let's say Lucas was more effective when he came on two weeks ago. Bale's inclusion also took away Isco's PT. I understand that Bale is or I should say was a brilliant player. Zidane hoped that he could become his former self. Hey, he could always use him off the bench. I understand why Marcelo started last night, but it was the previous game that Zidane ********ed it up. Mendy did so well up until that point. Logically, he should have started last week and rested this week. On the day Zidane announced the starting lineup last week, everyone in the world knows that Marcelo had to start two weeks in a row. I assumed that Mendy knew that he was "benched" not for his "cards". He was simply benched.

So what is my point? If you do well here, you don't play the next week. That is Zidane's formula.

Edited: I thought Isco needed to start last week, I was unsure if he regained his fitness. IHe seemed to get cold again.

    What game were you watching?

We had multiple one-on-one's and other 100% chances; all blown by shitty play.

I think the one Hazard blew cripple the team mentally. Then Varane did his magic and is was game over.

The camera angle from inside the goal, it seriously looks like the shot was not a hard save to make but he just pulls out of making the save for some reason, at least that’s what it looked like to me, really very strange

Well we know you’d get Kroos in there somehow giving how much you think he only passes the ball 2 ft sideways always for years now based on I’m never sure what you watch when he plays

Still the reality is he’s had absolutely nothing to do with our slump and has been one of the most consistent players for us this season, even adding goals to his repertoire, but we know you can’t help yourself when it comes to Toni, no need to “move on” from him as yet though IMO.

Leagues are won with attack, not defence. We lack goals, pure and simple. Vinicious and Rodrygo are still kids and prone to inconsistent form and bad decision-making, Hazard is injured and Bale is on the team's periphery in many ways. We must be more decisive and bold in the transfer market. I'm not thrilled with this strategy of collecting unproven Brazilians and other talents - a lot of money can be spent like this without having one true world class player to show for it. The team needs goalscoring wingers and forwards and that is what should be the priority.

Lol, two seasons ago it was "we need defense, who cares about scoring all these goals".

    Now something different.

without Mendy and Valverde on the pitch its 2017/18 all over again. The same shit football, the same croses, the same awful defence and dead midfield.
Zidane constantly rotating them is a disgrace and he is going to pay for it

his form is going downhill because of Zidane, playing him as a right winger and DM or not playing him at all just killed his form.Instead of building a midfield of Valverde,Casemiro,Kroos and using him as a box to box ,Zidane killed him with his atrocious line ups and management
