Let's focus on Nevada I'm happy that we in the West finally get to weigh in! and that this is a diverse state that accurately reflects the democratic electorate. Nevada democratic voters are 55% white 15% black, 20% Latino and 9% Asian. The state is less educated and more working class than Iowa or NH. It is more union. The problem is NV is notoriously hard to poll. Clark County (Vegas) has over 2/3 of the state voting wise than Reno and Washoe county has the 2nd highest total than Rural depopulated NV. Bad thing about NV is it's a caucus and has three different ways to determine the winner just like Iowa. Betting markets have Bernie winning big but who will make second or possibly pull of a win? Biden needs to be 2nd, Warren needs a strong showing as well 2nd would be a victory for her. 3rd or lower her campaign is dead. Pete and Amy are too white bread for NV. They are pining for Iowa or NH or whitelandia.
Anonymous "intelligence official" strategically leaking this the day before the Nevada caucus to Bezo's newspaper in order to sway the vote against Bernie. Whose really interfering in the election? Bezos would only owe about $9 billion per year under Bernie's wealth tax.
Yea mate I got no dog in that fight. As long as somebody can beat Trump I'm all for it. He will have won the first 3 states, the billionaire you were interested in just bombed and got exposed on that debate stage. I agree Bernie and his stupid bros need to reach out to the rest of the party his lot is insufferable. Who can stop him mate? Biden? A resurgent Warren? Super Tuesday is fast approaching and through narrower pluarites I see him cleaning up.
If the dude becomes President he is gonna face even more questions and disagreement. Learn to deal with it instead of embracing some Bezo's conspiracy like Trump.
It's no conspiracy that the DNC, MSM and major corporations are anti-Bernie because of his proposed tax increases to fund social programs. It's no conspiracy that the DNC is fine with a backroom deal at the convention even if Bernie has the most votes and delegates. Heck, all the candidates admitted to it the other night in front of millions of people.
Why? Bloomberg is certainly not the “Democratic establishment.” So why would that justify a tweet alienating the party where he is running?
Beyond that, it seems that he is accusing the "establishment" of leaking this Russia story to try to stop him. Mindbogglingly stupid. 1231023518403514369 is not a valid tweet id
because it's Friday night and I have had a few beverages and believe in the kids turning out and voting for a leftist president instead of an Internet troll. I know, I'm a dreamer.
his vote down ticket is scary. humans try to over correct themselves when they can and they do. I have been a MN long enough to understand it.
While it certainly defeats the purpose of a caucus, they used ranked voting so that if a person’s first choice didn’t make the 15% viability, their vote could be automatically shifted to the next person in their ranking.
I love it. If it ain't clear to moderates that he will destroy the party by now then I dont know what will.
Do you know he could have also gone ahead with the leak and announced it about a month ago but I guess it wasn't worth telling the public
That's it. I wasn't going to bother to vote in the California Democratic Primary. But Sanders is a jackass and I'd like to vote against him at least once. So I guess I'll be heading over to the town hall to trade in my non-partisan, "decline to state" primary ballot in favor of a Democratic Party ballot. Now the only question is which of the schmucks running against Sanders am I going to vote for ... (Seriously. I'm open to suggestions.)
It was classified wasn’t it? And the intent here is that it taints his campaign. Just assume that sanders drops out? Who gets tainted next? Gotta be honest, this needs to be addressed, and if all it takes is an allegation of this to taint a campaign....every dem candidate is vulnerable... I’m not changing my vote. My early vote is already sent anyways.
sanders campaign office vandalized in Seattle The clipboards we use to canvass and signs we use to spread the word are now being used to clean up shards of glass from our office floor. We don’t know who did this. But we’re fighting for them too. pic.twitter.com/8fOgYvFUMp— Shaun Scott 🌹🤝 (@eyesonthestorm) February 22, 2020
There was an interesting piece on the BBC a couple of years back about this sort of thing. The guy said that it's a basic misunderstanding to say they support this or that candidate. What they actually support is the conflict and disharmony. So they'll support one side in a dispute at one point and his opposition at another. If that's the case it would be astounding if they didn't support Sanders at some point. https://www.brookings.edu/testimonies/lessons-from-the-mueller-report-on-russian-political-warfare/ The Russian operation against the United States, as detailed in the Special Counsel report, fits into a broader pattern of Russian non-kinetic activities—tested, first in foremost, in former Soviet countries, most notably Ukraine. The operation targeting the 2016 U.S. presidential election may be the most prominent case of Russian political warfare against the West, but it has not been the last. Since 2016, Moscow has interfered, in various ways, in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Montenegro, Spain, and elsewhere.
