well, seems I have to decrypt this first ;-) but I understand the last line as the promised land... but for whom? ;-)

that was a very smart coach!

exactly! that's why the ref's missing 'Fingerspitzengefühl' was only part of the story... the hard line was announced and the club must/should(?) have briefed the players on the situation... and when you are warned like Plea it isn't exactly smart to...
actually the ref was classy in 1st half but lousy in 2nd (the red only being a tiny part of his failure... Bonhof: "I've never seen shit like this"... well I have but it really looked like losing track and preferring RB)

my whole weekend was clouded! and Werner is such a piteous ham actor and everlasting whiner!
if we 'lose' (it felt like losing) like this against 'r-e-a-l' soccer clubs like f.e. Werder, Union or Freiburg I usually get over this pretty fast... but not against this obscenely pimped 'Plörre'-club (now they even have signed Olmo)... I hope F'furt is wiping the floor with them in the cup tomorrow

first: I liked the line up! ;-)
2nd: I liked even more what the players did... we certainly looked like the home team in 1st half and in the last minutes we even pressed them with ease for a short time... yep, at this moment I thought 'they look like on the ropes' but 'like a deer caught in the headlights' is the much better wording
Kramer's injury (this guy has more head injuries than normally a complete squad has... Rose asked in press conference: "He feels better know, but I hope he did't think it was the WC-final today) was the first setback... he really would have been helpful to defend the lead in 2nd half; then this slapstick-goal the 2nd setback.... aarrrggggh, yes: we are Gladbach! if it looks to good to be true soon something happens what proves that it looks to good to be true... and then the dispensable card the 3rd setback... watched with someone who said '100%! we are not defending the lead, you'll see, a 100%' and I said 'shut up, stop predicting, maybe very likely but not a 100%' and then they scored and 'See, a 100%!' squeezed out of his mouth...
3 points could have opened the big door for us... this opportunity is gone... and at least it would have impressed L'kusen (Völler in winter break predicted our downfall in Rückrunde) and would have improved our lead in my personal 4th-place-standings ...
now it's reinvigorated Cologne and the cards are reshuffled...

[I had to google who this Ray Lewis guy is ;-)]

    This was golden 100%

As for Ray Lewis...lets say he is a MAN's man..old school old guard to the core!

Maybe this will get your attention

interesting times in soccer right now!
Klinsmann f.e. (metaphorically speaking) put a pump-gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger... the most boring capital-soccer-club in Europe needed something 'big' he told weeks ago, turned out it wasn't him...
...and Man Shitty got banned for two CL-years (I only believe this when they are not part of the next group draw)

much more interesting: Borussia's crucial win in D'dorf... L'kusen won in extra-time and we were under pressure
2nd half on saturday and 1st half vs. RB taken together actually create an excellent soccer game although latter impressed me more because of the opponent's overall quality... Rose is worth every penny, this should be crystal clear by now

took a glance at the Fortuna-fan-forum, quite interesting: while some still cultivate the good old tradition of fiercely disliking us (since time they call us "Eastern-Dutch" and "Bauern" ~ farmers) but it seems more and more of them cannot deny some kind of respect based on the fact that -at least- we're not some swaggering investor's club and based on the fact that we "are better managed for decades" as someone put it...

which brings me to a strange remark in TV this weekend by Andreas Rettig (former Freiburg & Goattown director of sports and former managing director of DFL, the German Soccer League):
"If I had to invest money years ago I wouldn't have invested in Gold [which would have a been an excellent investment by the way], I would have invested in Gladbach-shares if this option had existed at all"
Bonhof promptly commented on this: "bring me a hankerchief!"
Rettig pointed out that you not necessarily need investor's money to create 'value': doing a great job on the transfermarket also fulfills the purpose...

another strange quote (from Lothar Matthäus): "Neuhaus is the new Toni Kroos, only faster"... not sure about that, Flo still has room for significant improvement but certainly he's adapting and improving... if he stays healthy he will start at the Olympics in summer but Thuram (who crashed Sky's/Lothar's Neuhaus-
interview ;-) amongst others already sees him playing at the EC...

    well, Thuram:
    he has the body
    AND the speed
    AND the technique
AND the eye for his teammates
AND the mindset to do something unexpected now and then
    AND a sunny disposition ;-)
AND sometimes when his ankle clearly gets hit in the penalty area (like on saturday) instead of going down he's following through with the attack... because he wants to SCORE (or at least assist)
(sometimes you meet supporters from other clubs and they don't say that much they just give you this appreciative look and a suggestive "Well, this Thuram guy..."-remark)

"color commentary" is an interesting term ;-)... the live commentators of the public broadcasters over here usually did without co-commentators... I guess they are a little bit self-absorbed and also didn't want to be exposed to 'real' soccer-knowledge... and the hindsight 'experts' in the studios (Kahn f.e., since when do goalkeepers know anything about field soccer?) most of the time make your feet fall asleep

so, did Thomas do well? he certainly is stimulating & refereshing in German TV... he (& Polenz) are also doing short but interesting tactics-vids for Sportschau...

I give us 5-7% of a chance to win the Buli Shield..well let's say it never say never right?
But this RBL and new BVB with all the Euros poured in btwn winter pause might very well be able to leave Hollywood in their wake!
    :D;):ROFLMAO::eek::speechless::devilish::alien:
Am happy Rose slowly doing whats he is doing and just land us in Cl...once we enter that stage in Europe we might be able to bring in a few superstars...well i was never one for supporting superstars...i like workhorses with good technical skills and moreover huge respect for the Diamond and Club Jersey!

I'm not so much one for bringing in superstars but being able to keep the ones we develop. There was the one year we finished 4th in the BL (in Dante's day, I think) and the three teams above us each took one of our best three players. Ugh:mad:

    sorry.............been somewhat "preoccupied" of late.
Haven't seen much of BMG I'm afraid-and not sure how much I'm "going to get to see" in real time. From what I've been able to read, seems like BVB has bought their way into contention, and Germany appears to be doing well in the UCL knockouts. Gladbach won't win the league. Feels like it's in the charter.,

kept quiet in order to swallow as smoothly as possible the bitter bill of the draw against Hoppenheim...but hey i had to finally say my piece:cautious:
As Borusse we are not much about trophy and silver wear....we have been there done that...and still play attractive football with class...much better than clubs with Billions in their pocket.
Correct me if am wrong..wouldnt have Raffa been a good stabilizer towards the end of the game vs Herrmann for example??
Ball control,retention...teqnique to score and hold the mid field???
No fingers pointed at Rose but wanted to know your opinion???
Not many teams have such a valuable player on their bench!
    :whistling::thumbsdown::(:confused:o_O

well, unlike me he's smart and a two (or three?) time Australian player of the year... that should lead to better English than mine ;-)))))
[by the way, here's Jesse Marsch (“Too many F-bombs!”) coaching CL at Anfield

again we gave away two points at the end (while we certainly wasn't the better team we were the more dangerous one)
Plea while certainly not bad vs. Hoppenheim looks somewhat ill-starred (and the 50? idiots on the stands aren't of any help either)

against L'zig in 2nd half I wondered why Rose didn't bring in Stindl for Neuhaus (or Hofmann): an experienced, fresh, smart & tough player who for my liking would've been better suited to defend the lead
tend to be with you regarding Raffa: like you, I would have used him earlier
but at the end you'll never know: Rose obviously thinks that attacking is the best way to defend and very often this is right... we hadn't much control in midfield and Rose might have already given up to bring back control... and with H'heim sooner or later being forced to 'open up' he probably opted for a f-a-s-t player for counterattacks (and that certainly isn't Raffa...)
acc. to BILD none of the expiring contracts will be extended...

    don't leave us alone!
all six German clubs won their international matches, it's just one team which couldn't keep the pace: Gladbach ;-)

by the way: the possibility of Bundesliga (at least at the Lower Rhine) might be stopped is increasing every hour... the region looks like becoming a CORONAVIRUS hot bed at the moment... and they don't even know where it's coming from... no traceable connections at all by now

    yep, totally real!
Kreis (county of) Heinsberg (the borderline is barely 10km away from Gladbachs Old Market) has 20 confirmed infections (one of the infected is in very bad shape) ... and more than 1000 inhabitants have already been instructed to not leave their houses for at least 14 days
no panic here but only idiots haven't yet realized that this is s-e-r-i-o-us

and they still don't have a clue where the one who started it here got it from (and that's ultrabad because you can't interrupt a chain you can't see)... seems to be a similar case in California by now, I heard this night

if this is getting worse called off Bundesliga-matches are our least problem...

the first cluster was in Munich (a company with a chinese worker or visitor and several connected infections)... seems they have shut that down
most other cases in Northern/Central-Europe are retraceable to Northern Italy
but regarding Heinsberg (37 infected by now, only two of them seriously 'sick') they still don't now
most of the people over here, despite being concerned, look relaxed on the surface (at least as long as they aren't old and already sick or not so old but suffering from low immunity or lung problems), some are even joking
Switzerland has cancelled all soccer matches (except for the village leagues) but BUNDESLIGA hasn't cancelled anything so far... even D'dorf-Hertha was played yesterday (despite D'dorf has it's own case by now, retraceable to the visit of a Kappensitzung/carnival session in the Heinsberg region)

Gladbach and Bonn each with one confirmed infection by now (both retraceable to the indoor carnival session: ~ 300 particpiants, all of them identified by the authorities... and the authorities have given up to proactively identifying the participiants' contacts afterwards... not doable they say... so there were all those people laughing, joking, having the fun of their life... and simultaneously infecting each other ... it's a strange world!)
German virologists assume that 60-70% of the Germans might get infected!
but here is the thing: OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS!
by then there will be an approved vaccine and CORONA will be not much more than the usual influenza... and stay FOREVER
all we have to do, they say, is to slow it down until then... the transition phase we are now in is CRUCIAL...

not much soccer-talk the last days: the bunch of 'Hornochsen' (ninnies) [EBERL] with their silly Hopp-banner and the question who should take the next penalty is all there is... ok, Strobl gave Dieter his word to reconnect in the case HSV is promoting to Bundesliga... Raffa told he still can be valuable especially on '10' (he has built a house in the region and wants too stay, but also kick some ball the next two? years... so let's see)
and earlier Doucouré got his contract extended (that's not self-evident he told), he's getting more and more playing time at the U23...
transfermarket-rumours are pretty slow at the moment... which isn't a bad sign at all with Eberl
