I'm optimistic that even if we dont win any more games than last year, it'll be a lot more fun. Future looks bright.

Indeed. While I'd love to start out like gangbusters, I'm expecting hiccups. More than willing to give Wicky a few mulligans. Gonna be interesting.

I know this isn't exactly optimism but, what's the best price to view at Soldier Field?

What could be more optimistic than viewing the boys from Section 8?

Usually pretty fun just not the best view to evaluate whether your optimism is well deserved or not.

Sure. At Bridgeview I would spend the first half watching the match from a tactical standpoint from the Skyway (Section 80), and the second half, for the visceral sensory input of y'all, from Section 8.

I hope attendance makes that an impractical thing to do going forward at Soldier Field.

  8. I hope we can continue to move around a bit inside the stands. TBH, I spent very little time in the Skydeck the last few years due partly to knee issues and mostly to the wife's desire to be closer to beer, bathrooms, and 50/50 raffle sellers.

You really want the Latin Kings there, confusing the new logo with their symbol?

Oh, you said "gangbusters," not "gangbangers." Got it.

FYI, per an email yesterday, season ticket holders have to transfer their two complimentary home opener tickets to someone by March 6th or they lose them

I emailed my rep that I was planning to hold on to them and bring guests in a group, and she adjusted my account to remove the auto-transfer

we'll see how it plays out on the field, but impressed with the offseason to date, logo notwithstanding

Heitz seemed to be methodical in working through his top options with a strong bench of alternatives when his first choice fell through

If tickets to the opener REALLY start to sell well, the 300 level on the west side is my favorite spot in the stadium, but people have been dropping some reasonably priced club seats on ticketmaster for resale.

The team is completely full of players I've never even heard of but, hey they hung in with the defending champs at their first game of the season and probably should have won if it wasn't for very avoidable mistakes. A little bit if of patience and a little bit of marking and that's 3 points. And we have an owner that will actually show up to games so there's that.

    Sekulić is coming eventually.

And further good news, I realized today that if you hold down the "c" key on a Mac, it gives you the option to add the accent without using a code. Should be important to know with this roster.

I bought my ticket to the opener. I wouldn't say I'm optimistic just curious like people are curious about that car wreck on the side of the highway curious. Anything can happen and I'll get out to soldier Field before they can take my optimism away from me. At least it should be spring technically

Well assuming we don't see any sort of mass cancellations, I should be going to the opener after all.

Strikes me as good news for a team that was assembled at the last minute, hasn't had a chance to bed in with a new coach and a new philosophy, and has a disproportionate number of players who arrived having already played half-seasons elsewhere.

    Look on the bright side!

Fortunately, one of the giveaways will likely NOT be COVID-19, since the season has been suspended.

Sucks totally, but is understandable under the circumstances.

So first game back will probably be @ NYC or home to Columbus.

Not a single post in this here "Optimism Thread" since March 15.

A perfect symbol for this year.

F*CK YOU, 2020! You suck more than any year since the 1940's.

We're in the playoffs despite not winning a single game this season.
