I was addressing the comment that he's a fullback, which he's not. Plus, he's expensive. If the team signs him, that would be great, but I don't see it happening.
I'm assuming that the club is waiting to see if Amiens gets relegated and Bakaye Dibassy becomes available.
Wouldn't surprise me. He's actually tied for 3rd for goals scored for Amiens so I see why they would hesitate to let him go. Goff said that United ended Aaron Maund and Carter Manley's trials and brought in Jonathan Campbell (another ex Sounder!) for a trial. He also added this from Dave Kasper: "Kasper said the team could sign two defenders before the May 5 transfer window closes. As for immediate help, he said, “the important thing is to find the right player and not feel rushed.”
Finally!!! The official announcement that 24/7 News will be carrying all United matches that aren't already set for national broadcast. Plus, it looks like they'll be in HD on DirecTV and Dish. That'd be nice.
To dig up an old post, I don't know if Lot H/I is available *at all* anymore. That lot doesn't show as available at any time on Parking Panda or SpotHero - not for DC United games, not for Nationals games, not for even right now. I haven't been down to Navy Yard since December, but it's entirely possible whatever construction was slated to go on that parcel has finally started.
DCU's announcement says "As part of the partnership, all D.C. United matches will be broadcast locally and in HD on WJLA 24/7 News." then goes on to say... "Comcast: 808 HD | 28 SD Cox: 1008 HD | 8 SD DirecTV: 8 Dish Network: 8 FiOS: 508 HD | 8 SD Open Band: 8 SD RCN: 608 HD | 308 SD U.S. Capitol: 48 SD (20510 & 20515 only)
Very happy for the DMVers with cable! As a cord cutter in VA beach, the essential takeaway for me is that ESPN plus will always show the other team's broadcast, because the production value Sinclair brings to the table is reliably unacceptable.
Cord cutter here. I hope espn+ is not blacked out in northern suburbs. Last couple of years it was on and off. It also depended on what device I was watching. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
8 is not HD on DirectTV. However, if they show the DC broadcast on the DirectKick channels it is. Thx, Jay!
Scouted the area this morning looking at the locations of the season pass lots and garages. Lot H/I still exists, but half of it is closed off and surrounded by a chain link fence. There is a construction crane in the lost across N Street as well. My guess is that those lots will completely disappear very soon. I took a flyer on the garage at 49 L Street, NE. If it works, it's literally a half block shot to get on S. Capitol headed for 395. Ci vediamo.
Thanks for checking! Of course, this is part of why the "cartel" argument being made earlier was silly. Parking is getting *less* available in Navy Yard as surface lots get closed and built on. Maybe by the time the buildings are finished and if these buildings open up their garages some spaces will come back. But, if supply goes down, of course cost will go up.
That's just BS. If you read my original post you will ALWAYS see a disclaimer for total parking inventory. If total inventory goes down and demand is constant, pricing will rise. If one entity controls a majority of the inventory (large or small) they will control pricing.
Pre-season match today at 5:00pm eastern/2:00 Pacific - central can eat a bag of ****. DCU vs. Filthadelphia updates - @dcumatchday Live stream information (if available) will be posted on the above twitter handle. Cheers.
I read your post(s). I still think you're wrong. It doesn't matter who controls them. What matters is the supply.
0-6 here too. Why in the world would DC United and Philly Union block streaming outside of the local market? It's not like it's accessible any other way. Streamless in Seattle.
I'm watching in Virginia - it's awful - can't tell who's who and it's a dream for folks who don' t like announcers - I can hear some kids. I think I saw us score a nice goal. like a hand-held camera in the stands.
That is the Sinclair feed. It is official. I tried a VPN into Philly but the device GPS is overruling the IP Location. We shall see.
Right now, I appear to be watching coal miners play soccer against each other in a coal mine, but it's not midnight! Every once in a while a bright spot light shines directly in the camera! Wheeeeee!
