Apparently NYCFC has taken action and no longer recognizes supporter group that attracted facisit members
FC Cincinnati coach under investigation for using a racial slur. Apparently was hanging out with players in locker room and singing along to rap song and mention n-word repeatedly. Player pulled him aside and told him you can't say that word
I've never understood this double standard. If a word is reprehensible, there should be no context where its use is permitted.
I’m not excusing him, but I have observed Europeans singing along with songs and even using the “-ah” version in conversation because they hear it in the songs and just think it is normal use of the word in the USA.
Very good! In this case it is the denial of language as a tool of oppression. I used to think of the previously described use of the “-ah” version by African Americans as a double standard too. Later, I realized that from their perspective the usage by white people was the problem because it was interpreted as a tool of oppression whereas it’s usage within the community was not.
David Beckham signs $235 million sponsorship deal with Qatar for his new football club Inter Miami https://t.co/Uu3RmZ9DXh— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) February 16, 2020 Quatar is $235 Million sponsor of Inter-Miami.
News from Nashville this week: stadium impasse now resolved and will now be full steam ahead. Also, reportedly 15,000 STH's at this point. Good thing, because Nissan stadium will seem cavernous with anything less than 20,000 people.
So a foreign country can sponsor an MLS team? I vote we dump our current sponsor and have a country sponsor RSL, preferably with mountains like Utah. Switzerland? If Golden Balls can get $235 mill for Inter Miami, I think we could get 10 mil out of the Swiss. Or at least some free chocolate and cheese.
“And today RSL announced Swiss Cheese as it’s jersey sponsor”. In a tweet released by the public relation arm of the Swiss Dairy Association, it was stated “We at the SDA feel that RSL’s style of play personifies our product”.
Fun to chuckle, but i’m guessing they best us this year. Fraser >>> Freddie. I hope I’m wrong, and we manage to stick it to them all the same.
probably spot on there. I’m keeping expectations in check because if I didn’t I would be canceling season tickets I’ve had since 2008. If Freddy does as well as I think he will then next year maybe RSL will finally have an actual, experienced, for real head coach.
We decided to take a big leap and buy season tickets for this upcoming MLS season ... in Nashville. We'll likely only get to 3-4 games at most, but hoping we can recover cost (at least mostly) on the others. So if any of you happen to be in Nash and want to take in a game this season, hit me up!
Portland has a tradition that I like. They invite fans to come in for "Axe Portraits" each preseason, and you come dressed in whatever (most wear PTFC gear of all sorts) and then a few of the portraits are picked to become billboards for the team that season. Here's a gallery of several year's worth of Axe Portraits, and here are the candidates to be on the billboard this year.
Reports have Jurgen Damm is on his way to MLS. Another huge Liga MX signing for MLS. Initially Dynamo and LAG were the likely destination, but today I read it could be ATL. All 3 of those teams are already stocked with talent. I'm guessing this caliber of player will NEVER be in the cards for RSL?
Hey, we go take pictures of the supporters groups who don't actually support together or the team and throw them on ads. Totally up to par with this
