At the end of the day, I’m just jealous. When I said I was a Subaru Homer, I wasn’t kidding. I’m on my third Outback. Bought the wife an Impreza sport wagon. Have toured the SIA factory in Lafayette, and have multiple pieces of Subaru gear. Mainly my tailgating cooler.
It would’ve been a dream come true to have them as a shirt or stadium sponsor.
Subaru of America was until very recently located in Cherry Hill, NJ which is literally across the river from Philadelphia. Now they are in Camden which is still literally across the river from Philly.
I’m contemplating applying for a job with SOA that is based out of Columbus. Just not sure how “Brand Enthusiast” comes across in a cover letter.

For me, it was because I grew in Columbus going to Crew games, and I’ll be goddamned before I’m a Galaxy fan.

That said, I admit that LAFC is benefiting from the same Garber “some pigs are more equal than others” style of league rules that made me always hate the Galaxy. But their uniforms say Galaxy on them and those other ones don’t.

I sold them for a couple of years at a local dealership. Been a fan ever since. Owned 2 beat up old GL wagons that I picked up really cheaply when they were traded in. One saved my life the other my roommates. Pounced when I could on a 2006 WRX wagon. It was so much fun. A neighbor has a 2005 that I cast side eyes of envy at every time he drives by. It may be 5 or 10 yeas from now, but my next car purchase will be a new version of whatever turbo charged AWD thing they're selling at the time.

Is he the former poster that became a Philly fan? I have a difficult time keeping track of which teams are now the ones supported by some of the regular Crew posters from the past fifteen years.

My brother sent this to me earlier today. Didn't Dwight have a Frosty episode during a call once?

I have a Crosstrek. Great car.

It replaced a Mazda 5, which was a decent car, but needed better suspension.

Subaru ownership has exploded in NE Ohio in the last 5-10 years. I highly recommend them if you have to deal with snow on a regular basis. After years of getting stuck on my street because the Pontiac G6 GT I took over from my wife couldn't deal with any snow more than a few inches, I decided I wanted AWD. I went with the Legacy because AWD is standard for Subarus rather than an option adding thousands to the price. Now when I drive in the snow, I'm more concerned about the other drivers. I've never had a better car in the snow.

I drive a AWD Subaru and love it. Helps me get up to the mountains especially in forest service roads that have pot holes that can eat your car.

    Exactly. My husband precisely.

Do you watch many videos on the boxer engine as well?

Fittingly, blustery saw this person in Dublin. I also have “New Crew” Plates and we exchanged a wave. And yes the light had JUST turned green. We were stopped.

I gave up my Crew plate after *it* happened. Now I have Ohio Historical plates because it has an elephant on it (mastodon actually, but from a distance...).

How though? AWD is really useful in hilly terrains or off-roading, or towing, very little of which we see much of in central Ohio in a Subaru. AWD doesn't help you break safely, does it?

Subarus have a boxer engine, with a lower center of gravity, and a symmetrical AWD which is designed to have weight distribution evenly over all 4 tires. I believe it also has active torque distribution, which moves torque from wheels that are slipping to ones that have grip. I believe the CVT adjusts things as well to decrease loss of traction, but I'm at the limit of my understanding.

I actually live northeast of Akron, which is a lot hillier than Central Ohio, and in the secondary snowbelt. I also have to drive regularly to Western NY through Erie, PA, so I have tons of experience driving in heavy snow. My house is situated just below the crest of a hill, in the part of the city that gets plowed last. Over the years, I've had a number of 2 wheel drive vehicles that would get stuck at the end of the driveway when the street wasn't plowed, and if I got out, I'd sometimes have to reverse down the hill and get a running start to make it over the crest. I have had none of those issues with the Legacy. It drives better in both snow and heavy rain, in my experience.

Yes, AWD doesn't help much if you lose traction on all 4 wheels. But as long as you don't drive like a knucklehead, the instances where that happens are decreased.

Re: breaking, etc, there's a vast difference in how different manufacturers' AWD systems perform. Their ability to monitor slipping from any wheel and quickly redistribute power to/from any wheel; to know external temp at the wheel to asses whether conditions are likely to be icy; to measure whether your car is on flat terrain or on an upward or downward slope (and its angle). Or, say, when driving under normal conditions, to perform as efficiently as possible as, basically, a front wheel drive vehicle. Yes, systems like these can help you break more safely; when you compare breaking stats in, say, Consumer Reports, you'll see quite a bit of variation. They don't, obviously, do too much to compensate for a driver being a ********ing idiot. At least based on my somewhat unscientific data collection methods.

So, based on all the info I've seen over the last few days, we're going to get a soft rebrand and a franchise relaunch next year.

No jersey sponsor this year. I think this is in part because we get a new yellow next year, new stadium and very likely a new/tweaked logo. No reason to low ball a one year deal when so much will be changing next year.

If we don't have a jersey sponsor for 2020, they should donate the space to charities and at least get a tax deduction out of it while doing some good.

Sure--except MLS would have to approve. Now if we could come up with a multilevel marketing charity....

When I went to Haavaaad Square a number of years ago, I looked up and saw a second story window. On it, in gold lettering, as is not uncommon for offices, I saw the writing "Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe--Attorneys at Law"....
