You could see from his last few cameos that he was on his way back to form but it was hard to determine whether he looked so because he was being brought on to close out games we were already winning or what but with the last 2 games its safe to say that he might in fact be back.

Our strongest line up to me right now is the one that includes both him and Hazard, they dominated PSG with ease and i would like to see that deployed in the Clasico, provided Isco keeps playing this way of course, he gives us a lot of control.

Good analysis of what Isco did in the PsG game as well as our overall approach.

Would be interesting to see Isco make his way into the XI after the year he had.

If I had a dime for every time...

He'll have great games here and there but that'll be it.

Better bet would be to place your money on "Hazard optimistic about playing in next game..."[emoji854]

Always seem to go quiet when he is average or sucking.

Which is most of the time.

He's been good in some games and average in others but he gives Zidane another option which I'm ok with.

Spanish media loves him as if he was Iniesta or something. Never saw such blind support for a player before.

Part of the support is due to his contribution to national team, he's been good there. With us, the performances are less reliable.

Isco is a player that is fun to watch when he's on. When you pay a ticket you're not paying to satisfy your Whoscored app and your manager game, a lot of people in Spain pay to watch the games and a player that has technique is worth watching.

Modric is also a pleasure to watch. Worth paying the ticket to sit and watch him receive the ball and all those little turns and movements.

In general one satisfying fact about this team is that for a considerable amount of time we've had players that put butts in seats compared to some of the teams in the past (Diarra, Emerson double pivot for example)

But not so much when he’s “off” and the problem is lack of consistency, he’s clearly an up and down player, and IMO with his ability, should be much further along than he is right now in terms of his career, I consider him an unreliable player, but that matters not, ZZ believes.

It seems strange to me that people are upset that a Real Madrid player is popular in Spain. Isco doesn't seem like the hardest worker, but would he be one if he was getting boohed instead of getting his name chanted across stadiums in Spain? Who knows.

I for one am not one of those people who are upset , I’m actually not surprised at all that Spanish fans support a Spanish player, unreliable or not, makes sense to me, when he’s good he can be very good and, as has been noted, he is relatively good and consistent for the national team.

Aren't you against the nationalistic aspect the World Cup and the like? For the career Isco has had surely you can understand why people would be perplexed at the reaction he gets.

I wasn’t happy with Helguera’s comments about Isco at the time but he was spot on.

I'm against it but I'm fully aware that it exists. Thomas Müller has survived plenty of bad patches of form simply by being Thomas Müller. :ROFLMAO:

You don't like fans rooting for their countries in a wolrd cup?

I'm against people rooting for and against countries when they have zero interest in the sport otherwise.

The amount of hatred allowed vs countries and people during a world cup is from a different planet.

    Hmmm. Interesting.

I would say that most fans in the world cup are not real soccer fans, but are just looking for a reason to party and/or to follow the hip thing to do.

But i don't notice much of the hatred that you are talking about. Sure there is never the scarcity for idiots, but most fans are either real fans or people just following the trend because it's cool. Not many out there showing actual hatred against the other countries

When italy beat Germany in 2006, plenty of people I work with (people with multiple degrees, so not any kind of dummy) stopped eating at Italian restaurants out of protest.

There is a lot of politics behind national team football and sport in general, I don't like that at all.

Meh. People with degrees can still be idiots

But that's the nature of sports. There is legitimate hatred between some Barca and Madrid fans, sox and yanks, duke and NC, Lakers and Cs, and even player fans Messi and CR, Kobe and LeBron before Kobe's death, etc.

I think the world cup is a super cool event and for the most part, it brings people together not against each other
