Hmmm... I haven't heard anything about MLSLive and ESPN+ this year. I guess I had assumed it would be the same as last year....
LA Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids "closed door" scrimmage today at 11am... Streaming live on www.lagalaxy.com. Who's watching?
And just like that we're down 1-0... Near post corner kick flicked header to the far post by Rubio for COL.
Cuello getting another run at LB with Acosta out (probably for the season) and Traore and Insua apparently still out. Depuy also still playing in place of Steres. Both could make cases for being in the rotation simply by getting this preseason time. Cuello could help his career with versatility.
1-1 at halftime. DePuy scores off the corner kick with a nice header, although COL goalie was nowhere to be found inside his 6 yard box. Also Katai left the game with an undisclosed injury, yay. So far the Galaxy looks very uninterested in the game, lazy passing, lazy runs, lethargic. I am beginning to worry about how effective Chicharito can be without a solid attacking midfielder in there to consistently provide the ball to the front three. I know Jonathan is out, but so far in all these games Lletget and Corona are far from convincing, and Kljestan is not a 90 min player anymore IMO.
Katai better not be too injured. Defensively we look terrible. Bingham made several tough saves to keep it at just one goal conceded.
Just to put a cherry on top of this sh!t sundae, Lewis falls on top of Efrain's left leg while fighting for a ball... Alvarez had to be stretchered off, didn't look good at all. Looked like either a broken leg or ankle. Expect for him to miss significant time. I just hope he attacks his rehab and comes back from this, it's so easy for a young player to succumb mentally when this type of injury happens. He looked pretty freaked out and in pain while being taken off the field... :-(
Galaxy takes the 2-1 lead. Nice left footed free kick whipped in by Wild, flicked by Koreniuk and off Moor's foot for the own goal.
Questions going into the final pre-season game: 1) What's the deal with JDS' injury? When will he take the field again? 2) What's the deal with Insua's injury? When will he take the field again? 3) What's the deal with Steres' injury? When will he take the field again? 4) What's the deal with Rolf's trip to Italy (Green card we hope). Will he be back soon? 5) How injured is Katai? Will he be ready? 6) What's our left back depth? Will we chose to play Rolf at left back or Cuello if Traore/Insua are not ready? 7) How soon can we sign Franco? 8) Who's going to provide depth in attack and wing? Especially now that it appears Alverez is hurt. Can't say I feel great about where the team is at or how we have used this preseason.
Rest easy, GBS confirms Aleksandar Katai is NOT injured and played no part in taking him out of the game. #LAGalaxy— Delmy Barillas (@DelmyBarillas) February 19, 2020
It's an emerging theme already this pre-season. It's been such an issue the last few years. I don't think we've had all 3 DPs for more than half a season in years.
I am taking Trick's word for it. I did my due dilio but I did not see the schedule in espn+ and it spooked me at first. Then I tried googling mlslive and it took me to mls.com so I figured something was afoot. I would verify it if you are thinking about it tho.
Ok, so Efra huh? That really does bite. I was truly hoping he started being more of an option this year and now at best he is looking at months or maybe the entire season!? And on top of that the rust seems to be really thick? Deep breaths. Deep breaths.
Underwhelming so far. I’m sure JDS is a huge loss in the middle and that’s contributing to having absolute no midfield play, but this is uninspiring. If it wasn’t for Pavon, who gets better by the week, we’d have no offense.
Anyone know how an out of state viewer can watch this? I have DTV and ESPN+ but it's blacked out for some reason on DTV Comcast Sports and I can't find it at all on ESPN+. Link, or any other clues would be appreciated.
