Yeah... I checked in on this thread because I noticed an unusual amount of activity and lo and behold.... Weah suffers another injury after 10 minutes of playing time. What a joke. Another out-of-sight / out-of-mind USMNT hopeful. No wonder GG picks so many MLS players... at least they seem to stay healthy. If you are an American and play for a senior team in one of the top leagues in Europe you are probably hurt or in threat of losing your job.
Maybe they have secret identities as Superheros and must fight evil and crime in their days off, and come back injured from that.
Enjoy your ten minutes. Time's up ! https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...urns-field-lille-after-lengthy-injury-absence Lille tweet During his return to first-team action against Marseille on Sunday, Timothy Weah suffered a tear to his right hamstring. Our forward will now begin a process of rehabilitation. The entire team at LOSC wish Tim a speedy recovery.
FFS - my lovely bride is recovering from a big hamstring repair. Man that is a bad recovery. What a drag for him.
I don't remember ever seeing so many injuries right after recovering from other injuries. Do clubs not know how to work a player back up to match fitness without, you know, actually playing in matches? If they aren't already, they should be doing yoga every day and a whole bunch of other shit, I'm sure.
Tomás' post was odd because he used a question mark? He asked a question - not sure why that's odd. He used periods, too, so maybe cut him some slack.
"Periodization is a form or resistance training that may be defined as strategic implementation of specific training phases." Perhaps I overreacted, above. My apologies to Don.
I think this needs a new header. There most definitely is a Lille out there playing games, but there is no Weah taking part. Sigh. To the point tomas raised, taking an extra week of rehab is probably always a good idea. But is it possible to fully simulate game conditions without a game? It's always been that you're most vulnerable to injury just as you're returning from injury. I do remember a piece on professional footballers being particularly vulnerable to this. Their muscles are prepped and toned to a very high degree, so little things that wouldn't affect the rest of us can lead to serious muscle injuries for them. Just coming back from injury, the typical fear is that you're favoring the injured bit, which can mean a cascade event sort of thing. But this sucks. Too bad, and wishing him well over this injury spell as well.
Looks like he came back a lille too early. I'm so, so terribly sorry - expecting father in a couple months so gotta get the bad jokes revved up. No word of the grade of tear/expected time out for this one? 6 weeks - 6 months would cover the spread of potential severity. Maybe him and Dembele can rehab together.
They do know and, at this level, have plenty of resources. The problem is, knowledge and resources are of limited use when the coach won't listen, the player won't listen or the player is just injury-prone.
