Good news! I have a soft spot in my heart for underdogs -- and Sky Blue has been that.

Even if they only average 6-7k there, it's an improvement and hopefully be able to make some $$$. Maybe one game paired up with Red Bulls as a double-header? This move will also get some free agents to sign and actually get their draft picks to show up.

Does anyone else suspect that there's more to this than simply using the Red Bulls' stadium?

I don't see why to suspect anything like that. It's not all that different from when Chicago moved into Toyota Park, from what's been said so far. The only other semi-similar situation, i.e. the Spirit doing a slow year-by-year move into Audi Field, was fairly transparent in the fact that the negotiations included shifting the team's secondary presence from MD to VA.

The only details that are unknown are where will SkyBlue train and where they will be housing the players?

I agree! I think there is more to it then just renting the stadium. May be far fetched, but RB's could have agreed to reduce the rent enough that drawing 6 tp 7 per game on average would make it profitable for Sky Blue to rent the stadium for all their games. Could be tied into some kind of 1st right of refusal by the Red Bulls to purchase, should Sky Blue decide to sell at some point.

That's.... still just renting the stadium, reduced rate or not. It's highly unlikely that there was a set-in-concrete rate anyway. We already know that NWSL teams have repeatedly negotiated rates at many of their venues, whether it's been college venues or Toyota Park or Audi Field. It's all just setting contracts.

And to be fair, LaHue said that drawing 4-5k* would still likely work for them based on the single big game they already had there.
*as in about half of what their big 9k game was

This also helps the Red Bulls fill the calendar up instead of the arena sitting empty. Gives them 12 more dates that the arena will be used.

SkyBlue already has more STH than last season. And this happened in just 24 hours. Big step forward for this team. LaHue is hoping to hit 1,000 STH.

I can't wait to make some games this year! Alyse LaHue is a saint for what she's done for this team.

Road trip! I bought my ticket to the June 13 game vs. Chicago at Red Bull. Looking forward to seeing McCall in action!

SkyBlue stated they can't afford to play at RBA at just 15% capacity. Hopefully that gets increased by May and SkyBlue can play their regular season games at Red Bull Arena.

Considering that 5k is the number that seems to get thrown around a lot for breaking even, that would imply having at least 20% capacity available at RBA, so playing elsewhere for now makes total sense.

Would love to play these at RBA but unfortunately the economics of 15% capacity means we would lose money each game even if we cranked up ticket prices, so we had to explore CC at MSU. And we are thrilled to welcome 750 of you there!

At 33% capacity, Gotham FC will be allowed 8,250 fans at Red Bull Arena.

Gotham needs a solid attendance boost. Their first two home were during bad weather. Currently 11th in the league in attendance. Happy to see their Pride game getting over 10k.
