That desert is the size of Connecticut. Can you imagine getting lost in Connecticut for 40 years? Idiots.
Thanks for posting this. My father (‘67)and I were talking about this very subject a few weeks back. Sounds like nothing has changed. Poor academics. Terrible environment for actually learning. Forbid me to even consider in HS...gave my son the same talk recently when he expressed interest. One caveat on admissions - you still do have to be nominated...so some (no idea the number) don’t even get to the point where they can even submit an application. With that said...he indicated that even then there were a lot of cadets that he always wondered how in the hell they ever got in.
I can’t be a born again satanist for the devil or christian for the other devil, Trump I’ll stay away from religion.
Letter of recommendation from the right congressman (say someone seated on military oversight, intelligence, etc)
I can see the tv shot and Morning Joe segment for this. And there will be such a segment. 2011: "Twitter caused the Arab Spring by helping young people organize and get around gatekeepers in politics and the media."2019: "Twitter isn't real life because it has too many young people on it."2020: "Bernie must denounce @Berninator4Ever77 or he can't be President."— Waleed Shahid 🪬 (@_waleedshahid) February 18, 2020
I see it as a joke, honestly. And there is a double standard. Since 2016, anytime Trump's supporters show toxic behavior we get a series of various publications travelling to diners in a rural town. With the mission of trying to understand them. A Bernie supporter does the exact same thing, they get portrayed as menaces. I'm not condoning either behavior but consistency is a scary thing for cable news. I haven't really dealt with any Bernie Bros, but then again, my experience with Bernie zealots online and in real life has mostly been women of all ages. The most extreme thing was a woman my age comparing to Voldemort (The villain) from the Harry Potter books. I'm not voting for Bernie in the primary (My concerns are mainly his age and health) but I do feel people, mainly those who are affluent, don't get why he's popular. Or that some of the concerns might just not be relevant anymore. I've said elsewhere that the pundit class is stuck as far back as 1984.
Bloomberg campaign says it’s a two-man race for the nomination per Bloomberg the news organization owned and controlled by Bloomberg pic.twitter.com/4x2zg06Bgx— Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) February 18, 2020 They weren't lost. They wandered. Big difference. See, they knew where they were going but they had to beat up the people already living there.
The good old days. When you could win a war by blowing a trumpet. Now you need a few Tomahawk missiles.
I have a feeling Bloomberg's campaign ends five minutes after the beginning of his first debate. He's going to get pummeled by smart and seasoned politicians who are going to be competing for the honor of delivering the coup de grace. And this won't be like a debate with a Republican, where Fox declares you the winner if you manage not to drool too much on the lectern.
His "support" is razor-thin; I'll bet it's mostly less-engaged voters* who like the ads they've seen, lately, EVERYWHERE. Hell, I can't stand Bloomberg, but I like his ads--his media people are making much better use of his money than Steyer's team have with his. But I'll bet you a lot of those voters aren't going to like the product nearly as much as the ad campaign. *Whom I'm not judging, and all candidates should try to reach.
