I'm going to the DC United game at Cincy next month. Curious to see what the atmosphere around that team is like.
You know the date on that is 10/31/19. The Fire might still be full steam ahead on this but I doubt it based on what little feedback I've heard recently.
Cool. I didn't open the link as I figured it was just them taking the move as another opportunity to ******** with their own supporters. Glad this isn't about renewing that mess.
Yes, of course, I saw it was an old article, but considering it was going towards the off season, I didn't think a lot of water would have gone under the bridge in the meantime.
wow! - EPL refs sure do suck - based on Saturday's game and today's game, Rooney may revise his opinion of how they are in MLS
If you love soccer, and if you love yourself, you should make sure to watch Atalanta-Valencia played today in Champions League.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...s-and-liga-mx-clubs-dates-and-format-unveiled Is this the same kind of farce as the other MLS/Liga MX tournament that there was years ago? Superliga? What was the name? Not really planning to attend any game for this.
The Leagues cup is one of the few home games I'm looking forward to. I'm sure it will be LUFC vs some Mexican B team but it will be a nice change of pace from seeing the usual teams.
"MLS and Liga MX teams will be seeded No. 1 through No. 8 and drawn to ensure the most competitive matches, ... " What the heck does that mean? #1 vs #1; #2 vs #2 ....
I'll be interested to see how they price this. As it is, its mid-week and they're going to trot out the Loudon boys, so its a tough pill for me because we don't usually attend mid-week during the school year. Everything else is still full boat, so not even much motivation to get a sitter and come w/the wifey. It would be cool if I felt that this tournament yielded anything of value to the team that wins it. A trophy is a trophy, but I feel like this one is significantly more devalued. I'd much rather the Open Cup, than this. I feel like CCL already starts, relatively speaking below the level of importance, to the teams, then Europa League is to European teams. I am sure that's an overreaction, but that's my perception. This is such a Participation Cup, I've got no juice for it, especially when we're not even remotely interested in winning it. You win the Europa League, you get a bunch of money to spend on transfers, you get a UCL slot that earns you a bunch more money, you've played some decent name brand teams. Does CCL even payout all that well? What do get for winning besides a chance to get your balls stepped on by Liverpool or Flamengo and consolation game against some also ran from Asia. CCL is barely with getting an eyebrow up over, Participation Cup is DOA. I think North/Central America struggles WRT name brand teams. There area couple MLS and Liga MX teams that you want to see. I could give two shits about Saprissa, Olimpia, Tauro or ... shit I can't even name any more CONCACAF clubs. We don't even have the roster depth to take on the MLS schedule, let alone the Open Cup and this Participation Cup.
If DC has to play midseason friendlies, I'd rather them play games in this Leagues Cup than random friendlies against random European teams.
I was thinking the same thing last year when we played Betis and OM, only to be left watching instead some toddlers play against Payet and embarking 13 goals in two friendlies.
I'd rather have them play with dignity and possibly an adequate team to the circumstances, since I would be a paying spectator. It doesn't really make a difference if you are embarking six goals vs a Mexican or a European team. If the club wants to play team B, they should organize a friendly vs Frederick FC.
Watching Napoli-Barcelona today, I got proven once more that Vidal is a really giant d1ckhe@d, and that Busquets is the usual cheater motherf@cker.
Oh yeah "Fake Tournament" versus Mexican sides I can't stand an don't give a damn about, yeah that's WAY BETTER.
