I should have been clearer. The trip to LAFC was by the FO with SG leader(s). I’m going to assume the FO paid for it. We got a hint back mid season when we met with the FO that was the direction they were headed.
Elis and Quintero both sitting this preseason match. Lundkvist still looks awful out there. Not impressed with Chilean National Team Player Bizama either. Fullbacks look like they’ll be a problem spot again. Maric barely challenged so far. Made one nice reaction save and then conceded what looked like an olimpico where his vision was blocked by other Dynamo players. Memo easily the liveliest player and Struna looks like he’s decided to give a shit again.
ive watched a bit of the 1st half and the start of the second and it looks like we are getting carved up out there and RBNY has blown two sitters
There’s like zero desire to play through the center of the field. Every ball hits the wings immediately. Kind of sucks for Palomino and Isidro Martinez who are entirely cut out of the game.
I just saw the replay of the goal as well. Oof. Maric did not exactly cover himself in glory there. Brilliant near post header by Boni though.
Yeah. Think it was Salazar versus Vera, but very nice free kick service. Really would of liked to see more of Palomino and Isidro Martinez, but a lot of the second half seemed to be the defense punting the ball straight to the forwards. My biggest takeaway is just how much better Valentin looked compared to Bizama. Maybe Bizama’s screwing around because preseason, but he just looked bad

I watched the game on my phone but I fell asleep through parts of it. What I did observe is that Tomas Martinez should be a bench player. Can't hold possession and doesn't win anything on the defensive side. Very weak player. A liability even. I speculated a couple of years ago that Memo is better in the midfield than T.M. and people scoffed at me on this board (I sound like Juve, ha). Well, it's not speculation anymore - it's a stone cold fact. Get rid of the bum. When is enough, enough? Good observations about Lundquist and Bizama - mucho mistakes. Valentin did look better. Wasn't Bizama another gift from Jordan? get rid of the bum GM. When is enough, enough? When will their be accountability on all of these scouting fails? I just don't see the key centerbacks lasting the year, either. We still need improvement at outside back centerback and attacking MF. I wonder how this goalie situation will pan out?
I was impressed with NYRB back line strength but they looked anemic at the front. Are they projected to have a down year? No BWP. anymore to score their goals.
Interesting. I did not watch the game, but most comments I've seen on it raved about how good Martinez was. Showed off passing range, looked for dangerous switching of play often, etc. Go figure.
When I saw the goal from last night the play of your picture is what I immediately thought of. But I can't tell for sure that the ball would have stayed out last night had Maric not flinched so I'm cutting the new guy some slack.
Found this today: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...et-in-shape-develop-chemistry-at-15058249.php Need to edit: I noticed that on the Chron.com Sports section, which is now being packaged as Texas Sports Nation, our very own Houston pro soccer team, winner of 2 League Championships and classy participant in regional play representing our great city in our part of the world very well, in the most dominant sport on the planet no less, well sports fans, our team is now listed in the "Etc." dropdown! So not only has our owners and FO been able to find a way to witness the core of our fan base dwindle these past many years but our own local rag has found it ok to place such a team with such past success into the "also ran" category. Where we once had our own section, right up there with the Astros and Rockets and Texans. Now, just an Etc. nod. Here is how the screen looks today from that article I found. No. I can’t be bothered. Blocking these streams is outrageously stupid. Is there actually a logical reason to why the league would do this? If I can’t be bothered, imagine what the more casual fans think of it. I’ll try again on Wednesday https://t.co/z2MJJTrVUE— Eddie Robinson (@eddie_robinson2) February 16, 2020 Damn Eddie gonna get himself blocked. Also 2/7 people consulted for this MLS preview article think we will make the playoffs: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/02/17/2020-season-preview-houston-dynamo Marcelo Balboa has us at 7th. Charlie Davies has us at sixth. Carr saws 9th and then four guys peg us at 12th place.
I’m pretty sure our number one superfan has been saying this every year for the last 5 years, only one of which we made the playoffs Nobody expects us to win. It’s going to be sweet when we do.— Web 🕸 Tilton ☮️🚴🏼 (@webtilton) February 17, 2020
We took a field trip to BBVA today. Was really fun and interesting. I might have to upgrade to the Audi Club. The locker room was cool as hell. Kids loved it!
Before you do, just be aware that on game days, unless something has changed dramatically, it's not that great of an experience. Super crowded as between people sitting in those sections, passes they give out and other forms of access they've cheapened the experience. I'd suggest trying to get a pass for game day so you can experience what it's usually like.
