Zidane made a strange choice for me, if him bring Vini for Hazard, why play Marcelo on left and moved Vini for the Right wing minutes after his sub? Maybe he was testing Vinícius over there for future matches, but this was not a game for that, especially because Vinícius started well on left. But yeah, in last two games Vini didn't play so well when coming off the bench, him having little time (10min in last match and 15 in this didn't help much either), unfortunately Zizou killed his "momentum" after the great performance in Copa Del Rey. But it's not frustrating just for him, games like this one sucks a lot, haha, Real Madrid is reminding me a little of Flamengo before 2019, a team that plays well, has good players, but show weakness in moments of decision like this.
playing Vinicius on the right when chasing a goal....Zidanes tactics and team management is just terrible.Where is Lucas ....he should play there?????? I miss 2016-2018 not just for the trophies,but because of how predictible the line up was ,Zidane coundnt feck it up then,the starting 11 were obvious.........but now Jesus his team selections,subs are just shocking....chasing a goal our most dangerous left winger plays on the right where he is useles NO IDEA what he is doing
The only one in bad short term form is Varane. The other three you have mentioned have simply declined. I literally laughed when i saw how dumb Carvajal was at first goal.
Right now Gareth is adding exactly zero to our team with or without the ball, just looks disinterested and like he’s halfassing it, I have no idea what is going on in ZZ’s head, if Gareth is afraid of injury then he’s not ready to be on the pitch, if he doesn’t care then he should be nowhere near the pitch, ZZ is the person who has to see and make these determinations , if he thinks Gareth is good enough but this is what he is producing from game to game, if we can all see he’s not good enough at the moment then ZZ should be able to see it too and not start him, it’s a mystery to me at the moment, unless we are back to he makes a lot of money and is a “star” of the team so he must start, which would be sad
I would have expected that Jović plays in such matches. Probably starting or at least getting 30 minutes or so. But hey, we get Vin on right, Marcelo on left and Benzema upfront.
It feels as though Zidane is tinkering for the sake of doing it. If you have a system that works, why interfere with it. I'll say this again, not starting Mendy today at least to try and pick up that 5th yellow was absolutely criminal.
Bale has done ******** all this season thats a long time to be given so many chances, if anything we are paying him too much money for nothing
1. Marcelo has no place as a starter. Play Mendy or Nacho. 2. Bale shouldn't even be a sub, yet alone on the field. I hate Vasquez yet he's twice the player Bale is. 3. Benzema is in awful form, why don't you even try to use the only damn player besides Messi who last season had 10 goals or more in both League and Europe.

We looked good going forward for most of this game, some intricate passes to unlock Celta but the final pass let us down on more than one occasion, we aren’t clinical though. Marcelo wasn’t part of the back four for the 2nd goal, while I agree that Mendy should start ahead him I feel like today he wasn’t the problem.
For me at this point in the season it’s a bit of a dilemma , I imagined that this period would arrive for Benz at some point in the season, no matter how many goals he scored last season and early this season, but on the other hand Jovic just hasn’t integrated that well as yet, he genuinely looks lost and lacking intensity out there when he has played , I know what he can do but it will take time with us, he definitely deserves more playing time though with Benz in a bit of an expected slump
Hope going forward we just forget the 4-3-3, we look much more secure, the 4321 is what we should stick to every time we need a win.

Know it was mainly an off topic post but, IMO the season is far from over and I still believe we will win the league this year, we just need more .......... Goals!!!! I am not his biggest fan but Hazard is a good player and I believe he is going to help us massively in this department in the run in, I think maybe Jovic too, I still believe..
Speechless at it all! From actually being at the game in Madrid to how toothless we looked in real life. I’m flying back home in a few hours so I’ll write a full recap when I am at my laptop tomorrow. Zidane had Vinicius warming up for almost 25 minutes before he finally put him in the game. Bale looked like he was “working hard” but a lot of the results of how running around was nothing. His selection in this team is confusing. But the fans definitely still support him completely. He was applauded anytime he came to our section and the ultras were singing his song when he was subbed out. The Bale is abused by Madrid fans narrative is BS.
Hazard was the best player on the pitch, and it wasn't even close. The fact that he was returning from 3 months off goes to show how bad everyone else. One of the worst games for both Casemiro and Varane in a very long time. I said this last weekend, there had to have been a lesson learned from Zidane selecting Bale last week because it will cost us points down the road if we continue down this path, but I didn't expect it to come to fruition so quickly. This one, Zidane has to own. Cut the crap and select your best team. Bale is irrecoverable.
I haven't been following the James saga but this team is missing goals and there's a guy that can put in those double-digit numbers. Ditto Bale who looks so uninspired out there. I don't think he's half-assing it. I think Zidane is trying to make HBB a thing but it's an experiment that has already resulted in lost points. Bad timing. Watch one of these guys get injured anyway. Crossed-fingers that there's something there.
So damn disappointing. And the handling of Mendy’s yellow card situation just has me scratching my head. Can’t believe Marcelo started today. Sad to see our defensive lapses coming back again after being so solid for months. Gotta get some momentum back before the high profile matchups to come.
The saddest part is if you can't afford him to start against the worst team in your league at home, I don't think there is a game you can probably start him in. He was good going forward, but man, just no effort defensively.
