Nicholson off a corner. Abubakar free header saved, someone else (Lewis?) had a shot saved, Nicholson finally puts it away.
I think this is the 2nd half lineup: irwin rosenberry-abubakar-moor-vines price-mezquida-acosta nicholson-shinyashiki-rubio Edit: I think Rubio came in, not Lewis.
2nd VAR of the game. Rapids goal upheld. Nicholson in behind the defender on the right off a lob pass, passes over to a wide open Acosta in the middle.
Wait, Rubio's in? Not sure if I missed a sub or if he came in at half. Just sent a nice long pass to again spring Nicholson, but Nicholson had a bad touch. Edit: Ok, Rubio did come in, not Lewis.
Rubio takes an extra touch then skies it. Pretty good position in front of goal off a Shinyashiki pass from left.
Sounds like it was a good showing! Ironic that the preseason games are geoblocked for anyone outside of Colorado (at least my family and I couldn’t watch here in AZ) and the regular season is geoblocked to anyone inside Colorado. Go figure

That webcast was geo blocked? What on earth for? Is that a dress rehearsal for something they're going to do for regular season games?
It was really fun to see the Rapids back in action. Picture quality of the stream on my tv was great. This Rapids team is going to be fun to watch and is playing some attractive soccer. We really controlled most of the possession and had it in their half for a majority of the game. Now, I don't think the Fire are very strong, but we played really well. Their first goal was the low point and Moor got burned on the play. He is a great leader, communicator and decision maker, but he is susceptible to getting beat by speedier players, particularly if there is a counter right after Vines has been deep in the attack. Namli and Shinyashiki were the most skilled players out there as far as technical ability. Nicholson showed that his speed can be very dangerous. I love that Price played pretty much as a strictly defensive center mid (other than set pieces). Acosta played more of a box to box role and Namli was definitely the '10', and he certainly seems like a playmaker. Vines looks sharp and pushed forward more so than Rosenberry. It does seem like these are likely the starters for the DC game. From the subs, I thought Lewis looked dangerous. Rubio played decently, but doesn't seem like a true '9'. Mezquida was good. Really, the level didn't drop at all with the subs, plus they had fresh legs, while I don't remember the Fire making subs. I know many think Trusty will start over Moor, but I don't know if that will happen to start the season. It just seems that they need an experienced "organizer" like Moor out there until Trusty and Abubakar are able to take on a stronger communication and organizational presence. Like many have said, this team is deep at most every position and Fraser can use that to push players to work hard and stay sharp in trainings, which I think is great. I'm optimistic and looking forward to the regular season.
This sequence didn't result in a goal, but the movement and recycling of the play were wonderful. 1228799559221964802 is not a valid tweet id
