I have stated before, I believe Shinyashiki is at his best at the #9. He just goes at the defense without fear and is able to create chances or get fouled. When he's playing on the wing he has more defensive responsibilities and has to cover more ground. At the #9 he can focus on what he's best at. Of course the issue at the #9 is that there is Kamara and Rubio (although he can play a bit withdrawn). So it will be interesting to see how the coaching staff handles this. Not only with Shinyashiki, but with Bassett as well. There seems to be a lot of depth this season and getting the young players the experience they need is going to be part of the equation. An important part.
Probably right, there haven't been many Rimando's starting in leagues I watch. Also, the reason I think Rapids will let him stay contracted with Switchbacks until it runs out.
That can't help. I wonder what his reach is relative to the average 6 footer out there. I'd guess scouts are as big on GK reach as the NBA guys are. They'd be happier with 5'9" if the guy has gibbon arms.
He's young and I think Rapids are giving him a real chance but IMO he is years away from serious Rapids consideration but I am rooting for him to do it.
Good thought about his reach. Also, as he's still 17, it's possible he'll grow another inch or two. He's thin, so it appears he hasn't filled out yet. I do think the Rapids will give him several seasons to develop. Keepers take longer to come into their prime than field players.

Let's try this again: Who's joining us March 5 at @dairyblock?!Let's celebrate 25 years of #Rapids96 🎉— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 14, 2020
I will try watching, I hope Namli plays. I had a dream about this game but I think my dream brain conflated it with a regular seasion game. The Rapids lost, giving up 3 goals again, and I was thinking "WTF, I thought we got rid of Hudson, what's Frasier doing." Boy I hope we don't start the season that way.
I think this is the lineup: irwin rosenberry-abubakar-moor-vines namli-price-acosta nicholson-kamara-shinyashiki Azira is playing for Chicago.
Namli is in that right side of the middle row of the 4-3-3 but Shinyashi just made a run from left along the end line and had a cutback blocked. Namli was the target in the left half of the 6yd box.
Rapids behind. Sapong got in behind Abubakar, someone on the right got in behind Moor, sent the pass to Sapong.
Nicholson was sprung in behind off a Namli throughball. Got a slight push from behind in the top of the box, RED. Fleming is shocked at the call. Edit: now going to VAR. Foul was called just outside the box. Edit2: VAR overturns card, Nicholson offside.
Team looks like one I could actually watch. The first 8 minutes were great. Then Moor's speed and Abu's inattention.... Moor simply isn't fast enough to play out side defense. But since ,the Rapids pressure and passing game is working like it should. Missing the last pass. That should come
22' Shinyashiki goal, good shot from right, Namli pass. Namli was behind the forward line but fairly central.
27' Offside called on a Rapids free kick play. Someone got a header and another chested in the ball. Not sure who was called offside.
I like when a team uses a central player to open up space and when they lose possession they work immediately to get the ball back
I was wondering why they were showing ads for Galaxy tickets. "Dignity Health Sports Park" is the Home Depot/Stubhub.
