We really aren't in disagreement here. Sargent for sure may never be a top 3 league striker. I'm just saying how hard it is for a 19-20 year old to succeed at that level.

Bremen dropping down could be the best thing for his career.

We should have an 'office pool' each season betting on the number of our guys who will get relegated in Europe. I'd take 6.

When searching for "similar players" from the statistical analysis on that site, I hit this:

    Screenshot_20200213_105833.png

When doing the same limiting it to MLS, I got this:

    Screenshot_20200213_105904.png

So, according to their model, Sargent is similar to Baird in 2019, Jozy in 2018, Wondo/Zardes in 2017, and Chad Barrett 2016.

On the bench. His performance (and Werder’s) has given us nothing to look forward to watching them today besides losing to Leipzig so Adams can continue competing for the title race.

if he keeps working on that defending he could become a target for DC United.

    (snark directed at DCU)

So I'm up at 5:45 for nothing. Adams is injured and Sarge not in the squad.

Looks like FlashScore confused the other redhead, Benjamin Goller, with Josh.

Paderborn now drawing with Hertha. If these results hold Bremen will be foot of the table after today.

Starting watching at 70 minutes. Josh looks disinterested. Where's the fire or is it just late in a losing effort?

The whole team plays that way. Not to absolve Sargent, but there's clearly a deep rot at Werder Bremen.

But if you're the guy outside looking in, it's for you to show more fire than the other guys around. Sarge looks like he doesn't care. Not good.

PS: Let's hope if we bash him some he scores. Some Bigsoccer magic.

If they don’t fire him immediately after the final whistle, there’s something wrong with the board.

they are even worse to watch than Tedescos Schalke.

That defender wanted Josh's jersey before the end of the game.

In my opinion, he is a smaller part of the "reason". He hardly starts for them and they still stink up the place. If Sargent was to play in a top 3 Bl team even under 20 minutes a game, he would show much better and probably score some. Remember, Sargent is known to be a good finisher. Not having the ball or starting deep in midfield is not going to help his game.

What the heck? All this incessant trotting around. No pressure, no fire, no hard runs off the ball. Trot trot trot. Trotting into obscurity at this rate.

9 touches, 3 completed passes, 0 shot attempts in ~25 minutes of action off the bench.

    Yikes.

Just so not involved at all. Not showing, not running. So frustrating. What’s happened? He used to at least look like he belonged out there? It is maddening. I’m convinced he isn’t worse than he was but something mentally has changed or he’s down in the dumps (where his team is).

WB have the worst midfield of any euro top 5 league team.
However, josh doesn’t work hard. As others have said. His mentality is alarming.

If you want to attract the right kind of attention, effort would seem to help.
