Not surprised. They still don't have the correct numbers. I'm curious how badly they missed the previous ones up, they were even less transparent.

Ugh ... I call it bible camp charisma. If you ever go to one of his campaign events, the people there all look like children of the corn. They're all white, they all dress the same, everything is choreographed. Heartland values overload.

If you want a bland Midwestern candidate, please vote Klobuchar. At least she doesn't give off that bible camp vibe. She's comfortable in her own skin, and can handle herself off script. Everything Buttigieg does comes across as intelligence analyst/McKinsey analyst focus group tested corporate donor approved gibberish. I've never heard anyone in my life use so many words to say so little.

I just realized today that Buttigieg is what happens when someone watches THe West Wing too much.

Then again, I always found that show and anything Aaron Sorkin creates to be meh.

If you feel the like the party has abandoned the working class and now you're trying to win them back, nominating an abusive boss is not the right message. Kind of hoping Klobuchar stays relevant, bet they are some horror stories out there.

And it would be ironic if stories of such behavior hurt her and while worse stories leavethe steaming pile of fecal matter in the White House untouched.

Daw. But I like West Wing. A relic of a more optimistic time.

Trump can't be hurt, no attacks on him work. His base is steadfast behind him and won't linger. The worst strategy is going into the campaign thinking you can bring over some of his supporters by being "moderate", instant loss. Need someone who can motivate Dems, independents, and non-voters to come out, that's Bernie.

The problem for Trump is that just as he can't be hurt he also can't be helped. Nothing increases his popularity. Per 538, it has flatlined since spring 2018.

Yes but people chose W over Kerry and Chambliss won attacking the patriotism of Max Cleeland. Enough negative ads and the public will believe it. No one has gone negative at Bernie.

He can’t be helped directly, but he can be helped indirectly via relative turnout.

    Depending upon his opponent:
-turnout among those who approve of Trump will increase/decrease.
-true unaffiliateds who disapprove may think Dem X is evil enough to vote Trump...or not
    -Dem base turnout will increase/decrease.
-disaffecteds who are liberal will turn out differently.

And it will all need to be overlaid with where the net gains/losses occur due to the EC.

I think it would do well not to go negative at all for any of the candidates. Let’s leave that to Drumpf.....whoever the D-nom May be. There should be enough ammo for whoever the D-Nom is. And why isn’t anyone talking about RBGs replacement so she can retire for gods sake!?

It depends what you mean by "support." Most Dems I know don't much like the guy, but they certainly would vote for him in November if he won the Democratic nomination. They are very, very motivated to vote against Trump.

I prefer sanders....at the end of the day though...it is kind of irrelevant who the D-Nom will be....

The primary objective here is getting this guy out of the White House.....we can argue over who we prefer all day, but I hope we all are objectively on the same page here

Waiting for that show to drop...because we all know it will. The most obvious scenario where it drops early would be if Warren quits while 2 or 3 of Biden, Bloomberg, Buttigieg and Klobuchar remain.

From what is happening around people I know from NYC, there are never Bloomy. It will be Biden and if not him Pete. BIDEN they like but Pete is who they believe white America will accept. The feel the women are a wasted vote. Those white men ain't want one last time let's not waste time this time.

Been saying this for months. Bernie's misguided healthcare plan is going to create some conflict with his union support. This could have been easily avoidable. Allow people to opt out of M4A. Let the unions keep the great coverage they fought for.

Don't bet on that. Bernie may depress a significant segment of the Democratic electorate and you may see a lot of voters sitting this one out. Some intensely dislike him, others may think it is a waste of time since he will lose. Finally, the Bros are doing their part as well alienating some allies. Today, they went after the Nevada Culinary Union with a vengance, with calls, threats etc. They even posted personal contacts and numbers of the union leaders online. It won't be pretty in november.

Easily checked lie. What is your problem? What could you possibly be trying to achieve?
Then why is he in 2nd place?

For Bernie to have a shot, he's going to have to break the policy rigidity himself.

Signal to the party that his only goal is universal healthcare. We already know he doesn't have the votes for his current bill. Explain to the voters that he will sign whatever comes out of congress as long as it achieves universality.

Same for his GND. He doesn't have the votes. Tell the people that his goal is zero emissions by 2050. And he will be open to accepting any compromise bill that uses that as the benchmark.

Bernie is no longer running for Senate. As president he won't have to "write the damn bill". His job now is to build consensus.
