Rumors were strong that Sampaoli was being offered around but Pelaez said he was too expensive and didn't know Mexican football. Sure he failed with Argentina but before that he won Copa America and did great with Chile and got to coach in Sevilla. Also for Chivas knowing Mexican football has equalled Cardozo, Tomas Boy, Tena and now possibly Enrique Meza or Profe Cruz.

With last night win, Chivas sits in 5th place while only the Leon vs Juarez game can impact their standing. At the end of the weekend I see Chivas in 6 place with a 4 point differential from first place. Chivas has an extremely favorable schedule and I expect them to pick up 7/9 points facing Monterrey, Querétaro and Morelia respectively.
