Hazard should have to earn his minutes again. Not walk into the starting line up because he is Hazard

We need him to be Hazard so he needs every minute he can get...

... which is why it is so deflating he still hasn't even attempt to get any.

The midfoot stress fracture isn't really an injury impacted by weight though.

Man... It's been a long time since we seen Hazard play in our beautiful jersey. I so wanted him to do well for us and unfortunately, he's been hit with injuries and injuries. Starting to wonder if it was worth it... :(

Cristiano killing it in Italy and fully in the race for the European Golden Shoe. Sorry, just having one of those days and reminiscing.

You know very well that’s not how things work. 100M player can’t be a non starter. Plus we need him to work that rust off and round off into form. We have 15 games left in the league. If he can get in good form Liga can be won in 13.

How so? Every study I've seen claims there's a link between weight and the extra force placed on your bones which can cause hairline fractures. If he's having to carry around more weight all of that pressure is being placed on the ball and arch of the foot.

100% correct. Joint injuries have the biggest co-relation to weight followed by bone and then tendons/ligaments. Stress fractures seen in overweight middle aged women is pretty common. No trauma needed. Although I should say there’s a hormonal element to that too.

Generally speaking being overweight makes you more susceptible to injury while doing work that puts stress on the body. This is known.

there's a reason footballers are relatively light compared to their strength, they run an incredible amount which a heavier body can't do and avoid injury

Even if this was the case, you invite issues when being irresponsible. To make it even easier, of course weight has substantial impact. Dude came to RM like a well fattened pig ready to be processed. Absolute disgrace.

It is not exactly surprising why he missed vast majority of the season so far.

Are people really trying to frame this as a " he got injured because he was fat".
Like really ? The guy got kicked just when the tip of his foot was into the ground causing the foot and ankle to bend in a way it wasn't designed to bend.
It was a mixture of bad luck and a stupid challenge.
There wasn't anything Hazard could have done to avoid this injury so why are some of you acting like he could.
Sure but in this case though it was trauma that caused the fracture.

People are blaming his long lay off on his questionable attitude.

People are still upset at how Hazard came back from vacations, it was unprofessional for sure, I get it and I would fine him if he did it again next summer but now any and all things will be blamed on that as if he hasn’t done it at Chelsea and stayed healthy all season.
Cant wait until he’s back and playing so we can talk about his performances rather than have the thread full of takes from armchair physios.

Like really not being in optimal shape drastically increases your chances of getting hurt.

I imagine his career path in RM up to this point would look substantially different if he showed up in optimal shape at the start of the pre-season instead of being bucket full of lard.

And we’re not talking about marginally unfit. I mean the dude was really out of shape (for a top athlete). Disappointing to see. Nobody is expecting Cris level of fanaticism with fitness but come on.

    Personally I think Vinicius
Out of shape for a top athlete? He was out of shape for an average Joe, yet alone a top athlete. Full on dad bod.

I don't know why some people can't like a player... and constructively criticize them?

As if any constructive criticism for some people's favorite players is an insult on their children.

Hazard is one of my favorites. I defended him heavily to come here.

To say he has underwhelmed is an insult to intelligence. It is also an insult to intelligence if you think it is the club and Zidane holding him out this long and not his own mentality.

    The issue is the mentality.

It's the same mentality that he used to show up to his drean club overweight and unmotivated.

    That is an issue.

I don't really blame him for how long he stayed out, or how much we paid for him (not our money, none of it). The team has been doing great without him. I just want him to make us better and show the world his class. He comes back a the right moment of the season.

We're not relying on Hazard at this point anyway.

Can't believe we're exactly where we were a year ago, throwing Vinicius and Fede out there and praying for a miracle.

This pretty much tells us all we need to know

Technically it should only be a issue if the players name is part of your online name or if they play for your national team.

It's an insult to intelligence that you base your statements on thin air. What proof do you have that it's hazard mentality that's keeping him on the bench? Nada, nothing! Wouldn't it be more obvious that it's the medical staff or the coach or all three of them that made that decision? At least there is some proof for that since he had a fracture and that influences the way he comes back, it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with motivation.

Historical data. So just look at his previous behavior. That is the best judge of any person.

His previous behavior was to come to his dream club badly out of shape and take three months to finally get in high shape and form.

Had he not done this, there would be less skepticism and to be honest I have never seen a big moneh transfer get such a free pass as Hazard so far.

    Again, you fanboys suck.

If you can't constructively criticize and demand more from your favorites you definitely don't like them, you are just obsessed.

I've had the same injury on the same foot and once the hairline crack is healed he should be at 100% and he's been doing conditioning for a while now.

It's not a muscle or joint injury where the subjective aspect plays a part, if it's healed it's healed.

If there is a Hazard-negative aspect to this injury, it might be that it could be a stress fracture, coming from an increased workload on a player who left a club where they've been half assing it in training and now joined a club where training sessions are hard work. But without an insight in what caused the crack, it's anyone's guess.

The reality is we would be 9 points+ ahead of Barca at this point, if Hazard came to pre-season in optimal shape and actually played matches.
