Mitigating factor is LB Castillo was not in the line-up as well, but still, I'm betting Kik had an onion in his sleeve in case ten Hag looked his way... Also, forgot to mention Mendez, who came off at the 1/2. Again, didn't get to watch, so dunno why.
Aaaand... Volendam give up a goal to end up 1-1 with JAZ, which means Kik/Mendez/JAjax keep 2nd place on GD (even with giving up net -5) tied on points with Volendam and DeGraafschap. In the lead, the other pride of the north... Feyenie's Auntie's Stan... Gregg Beerholder alma mater... Cambuur! The crowd goes wild.
Man, I hate Volendam sooo much. Already 50+ years after a karate kick in the back of my then idol Ove Kindvall.
He's primarily a left footed CB that occasionally gets put at LB that has excellent passing out of the back, above average positioning, but is always good for a mistake or two a game. Has had a career on bottom EPL teams and top of the table English Championship teams. The regen reference is a Football Manager one.
Kik was so happy to have not been involved in Monday's mess he pranked his buddy. For Carel, from Pierie... 😘 pic.twitter.com/fRQ35S0zLE— AFC Ajax (@AFCAjax) February 11, 2020 🚘🎁SWEET 1̷6̷ 22 pic.twitter.com/mywP4MgCSV— AFC Ajax (@AFCAjax) February 11, 2020
Pierie back starting/90 as JAjax fall 4-2 to NAC Breda (interesting note. Starting RB... Maz! gets yanked @ 70) Mendez doesn't get off the bench.
JAjax makes history with the Jongest lineup in history of Ereste or something. Kik was old man on the squad at 19. They won too. Some guy named Mendez or Mendes or something scored the second... Jong Ajax made history tonight. They named a side with an average age of 18 years and 204 days. The youngest to ever feature in a Keuken Kampioen Divisie game. They won 2-0 at Helmond Sport.Plenty of talent coming through in Amsterdam.— Dutch Football 🇳🇱 (@FootballOranje_) February 21, 2020
I'm not going to deny it... I hope Dest plays well for the USA. If Pierie plays for the USA, I hope he doesn't do well. DEST IS AMERICAN. Pierie's citizenship is a technicality. The Netherlands does not have the citizenship laws that would give Pierie citizenship.
I have no idea what this means, but Pierie is a Dutch citizen. He was also born eligible for American citizenship due to US citizenship laws. Citizenship is a fact of law. But, of course, you are welcome to your opinion, guy-who-supports-England-and-has-an-opinion.
I think what he means is if Pierie had been an born in the Netherlands to American parents in the same conditions as his Boston birth (but flipped obviously) that Pierie wouldn't be eligible for Dutch citizenship like he is American citizenship. Pretty much the only logical way to take that bizarre statement.
But the thing is... he's most likely wrong. So that's kinda weird. Always interesting what folks obsess over. On the day of your birth, you and (either one of) your parents had your main residence in the Netherlands. Additionally, on the day that your mother or father was born, either one of of their parents (your grandfather or grandmother) also had their main residence in the Netherlands.
