    Things look grim.

However if we beat Uruguay and Argentina gets a positive result against Brasil we are in Japan.

Let's see how it plays out.

It’s better to be lucky than good

Reyes and his teams are lucky As fk. His U20 and especially this team

I will say look at the players and league Brazil and Argentina got to call from and we couldn’t that is the federations fault

Look realistically we "should" be able to beat Uruguay but the issue is regarding Argentina vs Brazil. Considering that Argentina already won this event there is no promise that they're going all out against Brazil even if it's a classic match up.

Even if we beat Uruguay 5-0, Brazil is a powerful team and could snatch the win that they need in order to guarantee qualification.

    That is true.

The only things we can rely upon is that Argentina wants to be the only team to go undefeated in the tournament. And of course they can say they were the ones who knocked out Brasil which would make them all smile in Argentina.

But other than that they have very little incentive to win/draw if they go down a goal. But you just never know.

********ing pathetic to give up a goal like that; that was a basic ********ing pass and gifting them a easy goal and spot to the Olympics.

We don't deserve to play at the Olympics if these children can't be disciplined (especially in defense) to play like professionals.

I don't know how they're going to do it but they need to equalize early in the second half if I am to have any faith in them by this point...which I don't.

Reyes teams are Bolillo level of awful maybe worse

Bolillos team would at least shoot at goal. Colombia plays like the Japanese women’s team. Let’s walk the ball into the net

Sigh. Guess I'm the only silly one still watching this tournament...

Benedetti came off injured. It looks like a ligament issue. Feel bad for the kid. He was finally finding form after his last injury...

I am watching it too and I am very disappointed.

Colombian football has taken 2 steps back with each year in recent memory. ********ing Chile has always improved but we never seem to grow and improve our mentality for success. What's the point of us hoping if we are just going to go nowhere with it?

Sure we will have individuals who perform well and can show promise but when it comes to the actual national team it ********ing leads to nowhere.

We need a better federation with better coaches

Reyes after the U20 Wc should have been fired. But picis stayed forever and was only slightly worse

I held some until we started this round. 3 straight games with no striker...

Then, Reyes decides to field a 5-man backline against a Uruguay that doesn't dominate possession. The one benefit, of course, was Fuentes got the ball wide open in the final 3rd constantly. But we have NO ONE in the box to cross it to.

    SMH.

the whole federation needs to shake a lot of things because if we're just gonna try to get by with luck I don't see any future for our national team.
hope fully we can still get poveda or other players dual citizens and give them a chance. I doubt Salcedo would want to switch for us anymore.

Brazil is winning 2-0 so it didnt matter how our match went...just goes to show what happens when you don't make your leads count.

Honestly, I'm not that bummed we didn't qualify. Even with our best kids, this would've been a very tough tournament. Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay each have talented squads.

What bothers me is that this was basically one HUGE step backwards in nearly every sense. We played this entire 2nd round, on our soil, as if we were playing an away game in the Maracana. Reyes conceded that we were the weaker team before every whistle, and, whether we were or weren't, he succeeded in embarrassing us.

Then there's the players. It's hard to get on guys like Ruiz (awful keeper) and Teran (awful CB). Reyes called these guys up, with neither of the two having started a match in the process until the last call up before the competition. Most of this is on him.

However, what the hell happened to Atuesta? Sandoval? Marquez?

Carrascal...damn man. The worst thing that could've happened to this kid was killing it in the first 3 matches. After that, he was abominable. That stint of success went to his head, and dummy Reyes ended up giving him complete freedom in the frontline when he started losing the ball 3/4 of the time he got it. 4 games now where he squeezes impossible balls between defenders or just hangs on to the ball expecting to get foul calls on every single play. He reverted back to the player he was before Gallardo got a hold of him....

Basically, I saw this tournament as an opportunity for a lot of our kids to get that extra bit of exposure to transfer to bigger teams. Instead, I'm pretty sure everybody's stock dropped...

Worst of all, just when Bendetti was getting back confidence, he's probably going to miss the rest of the reason.

    Nah...this was a colossal failure
