Haha, this is honestly a perfect situation to the kid. 'Try some shit, when in doubt get it to Sancho'.
Reyna you bad boy! A foul but I don’t think it really affected the play despite the commentators pleas. But a foul is a foul.....I guess.
F you're 30 seconds ahead of me. Unlucky but they'll certainly get more chances. It was his quick trap to and pass to Sancho that helped the move along
BVB are the most exciting attacking team in the word right now. It’s clinical. It’s fast. It’s beautiful. It produces goals. Very fun to watch. Their defending.....ooooof. Yikes.
This English color commentator is very biased against Gio. Maybe if he learned he was born in Sunderland he'd change his tune. Not saying there haven't been nervy moments passing deeper, but he's also been kind of a beast as a creator up high. It's been a mixed bag. Overruling that goal was unfortunate, and turned a positive into a negative event for him. Good quick turn to free up Sancho initially.
Thought he sounded Australian? Anyway seems like that foul and then his shot off the post took him out of the game a bit. Tough sequence to process for anyone
I feel like he could be a convenient scapegoat because of the disallowed goal that shouldn't have been. Dortmund should have scored 4, and allowed 4. Obvioiusly the latter is the problem. That said, Gio did kind of fade in the match, after a bright start. May have been feeling pressure from adversity, a little brought on by himself, but more by authoritarianism from the ref.
The ol' stand 8 guys on the half line and race forward on kickoff, then go smoke a pack at halftime...I miss those days
Favre out. shambolic defending. Gio has the foul. One give away. But neither he nor haaland touched the ball much in the last 20 min.
he was not nearly as clean on the ball as midweek. good reminder that development isn’t linear but still a bit disappointing seeing his effort in filling brandts substantial role
Only watched the second half. It was obvious they missed Brandt. Also the team as a whole was sloppy passing. Haaland was wide open for a one on one on goal and somebody gave him a really bad pass with no pressure. Like throwing a rock off a boat and missing the ocean. The longer the game went on without Brandt, the more they looked like the Dortmund of old passing the ball around with nothing to show for it but at least in those days they pounced quickly to win the ball back in the attacking end. I thought the call on Reyna for a foul on the goal was cheap stuff and BL shouldn't hire Brits to provide color. It's like somebody taking a crap in your living room.
