Certainly, the dude is well-spoken and carries himself rather well. Seems genuine and pretty down to earth. Since the game is all about chemistry, maybe these are some positive intangibles.
Since the MLS 25 kit reveal is tonight, I found this article to be extremely fascinating: “Who deserves blame for bad kits? An inside look at MLS and Adidas’ design process” https://theathletic.com/1586210/202...-adidas-design-process/?source=shared-article It really goes into tremendous detail on the design process, why jerseys are the way the are, and all the machinations between MLS, Addidas, and the local clubs themselves. Nice little summation at the end for those that don’t have a subscription: Also, I really appreciate the Rapids choice in model for tonight’s Kit reveal: Tomorrow this guy will strut his stuff during New York Fashion Week to unveil our new 2020 jersey!Learn more about our model from @SpecOlympicsCO, Scotty Stephens! 👇 📝 https://t.co/KADMcfWsbq#Rapids96 | #FORWARD25 pic.twitter.com/NovVyShlCn— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 4, 2020 And they are giving him the “royal treatment”: Scotty and the fam are getting the full New York experience! 🍕🚝🌆Follow along to see what his next adventure is before he takes his skills to the runway 🕺#Rapids96 pic.twitter.com/kOQhB4TZ3i— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 5, 2020 The royal treatment for our jersey model! #Rapids96 | #FORWARD25 pic.twitter.com/qTzOc7wTLb— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 5, 2020

No bias....okay just a little bit....but those kits are the best of the league. Hands down. From jersey to shorts to socks it’s clean, classy combo. I haven’t been sold on the whole diagonal three stripes on the shoulder after seeing all the MLS leaks but with our kits it just works. Adidas got it right.
I'm gonna have to see the whole kit on our players before I can be down with how the whole thing looks. I've also been hesitant with the diagonal stripes, and the pic above hasn't convinced me yet. Open mind, but I need some varied presentation on the pitch. All that said, I really don't care that much about the kit... I want to win games, and I do like what I've seen so far for off season moves (mostly). The kit will look good when wins are had, regardless.
Well I predicted us to sign Kelly and Raodriguez, and put Vint in the Academy for a season, so those predictions are looking good. I thought Afamefuna was a long shot and Alarcon was the better bet, so I had that one wrong. I didn't expect any of the other trialists to make the team.

Rapids Republic has published a review of every Rapids primary and secondary kit. It also features some blast-from-the-past Rapids such as Ross Paule. 1225229234982936576 is not a valid tweet id
The new CBA is signed! https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...referral&utm_content=news&utm_campaign=unpaid Looks like a lot of wins for the players. 8 charter flights mandatory this year, up to 16 by 2024 (and mandatory for CCL and Playoff games). Increasing minimum salary year by year up to over 100k by 2024. Sharing media revenue. Rise in salary cap to 11M by 2024. Free agency kicks in at age 24 and 5 years of service (pretty major change). And lots of other stuff. DPs remain in existence at 3.
Looks like TAM will slowly be phased out over the life of this CBA. Also a new rule (at least, newly publicized, it may already exist), the 3rd DP can/will be limited to a max TAM salary ($1,5M IIRC).
I'm understanding the same thing that TAM will be phased out. I also like the free agency limit has been lowed from 28 yrs old with 8 years service to 24 and 5. It won't apply to many right now but.... as the league gets younger it will be more applicable.
Vines, Lewis, Benezet and Namli are now with the Rapids in training. Also, looks like some trialists are still there. Back in preseason! Here’s the group that’s currently in #Rapids96 camp.— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) February 6, 2020 Nice to have updates on this sort of thing.
Glad to have Abdul back with the Switchbacks. Jackson will help as well - we struggled to score goals last season.
I heard the three stripes on the shoulder (which is league wide) is a nod to all the stripes on the original ‘96 jerseys
There is something with being able to sign 3 players under 22 ("U-22 initiative" starts next season) in some kind of youth DP deals. Don't have access to this article I see people referencing for it. For those curious, here’s *the* money chart. Pay attention to that asterisk. Numbers could go up in 2023 and 2024 depending on the TV deal. This chart doesn’t account for over the top spend on DPs and U-22 players, either. https://t.co/hVpAcLaPkG pic.twitter.com/95vsGqX9Gi— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) February 6, 2020

Sorry to keep posting something that requires a subscription, but the athletic has a nice analysis and commentary on the CBA. Too detailed to post any summaries, but they have some pretty strong words against the DPs and way young DPs are handled. The rest seems pretty straightforward. https://theathletic.com/1590363/2020/02/07/mls-cba-analysis?source=shared-article
I only received subscribed to The Athletic but am finding it well worth the annual subscription price. Detailed articles that are typically well written, personalized newsfeed (with great Rapids and Rapids-pertinent info), and a useful app. OT rant over.
My way early guess on this rule, which doesn't effect their new Salary Cap numbers, is that these players transfer fees will not count towards the cap.
