And at one point the team admitted that the 15 month sponsor search amounted entirely to Shitbags sending out "23 letters" to local executives whom he had never even met. When nobody wrote out a multi-million dollar check and messengered it over, he said that was it.
How much are you willing to bet me, right now, right here, that there will be a major shirt sponsor announcement in conjunction with Crewsmas? Come on, big mouth. Put up or shut up. How about a thousand bucks? Five thousand? Or are you as yellow and gutless as your owner? Step up, big boy. Are we on?
So, new BS member lists Austin as their team, has made 4 posts all in this thread. Are you going to take Bill up on his offer?
Because the league-wide adidas jersey reveal event was last night, and there isn't a single corporation who wants to throw down millions to have their partnership announced at another company's party.
Sorry Bill. Due to BigSoccer's glitciness today i didn't see the wager until after I posted. $20 says he still take the bet. The hubris on those Texas guys...
And go ahead and smirk, @don gagliardi I'm going to propose that we wire the money into your account to hold. Is five percent reasonable?
You might be right that one is coming, but it seems like a weird strategy to have jerseys on sale leading up to the season without the sponsor just so they can announce it on the season opener. If there is a sponsor lined up already, you'd think they would want to be on the jerseys you are selling as soon as possible, not to mention the free advertising from Adidas reveal. For what it's worth, I hope they get one.
I'm smirking because I seem to recall the Quakes and Crew doing a trade entirely of TAM for GAM or vice versa, can't remember which. Lord knows, as a Quakes fan, I can't be laughing at anyone for having sponsor-free kits.
You're new, so I'll spell it out for you: the league has a contract with adidas. That contract says that jersey's must be on sale today. Which would be worse: Selling a blank jersey, and then offering to upgrade it for the fans after a partner is revealed or being the only franchise in the league without a jersey on sale? Not sure of the answer? I'll give you a hint: Ask Chicago Fans.
I understand why the jersey are on sale. Archer just seems to think that getting a shirt sponsor is easy and that there is probably already one in place. If that's the case, I don't understand why they wouldn't want the sponsor on the jerseys. That's all.
Bye.I got dinner to make. Expect some brutal treatment if you keep ignoring what you're being told. Oh ,and tell Bill you're sorry.
They make perfect sense. The kit sponsor reveal is a big party. I just went to one last month, when the Quakes revealed theirs. The sponsor will not want to share the limelight.
Maybe the blank official kits will become a collectors item or valuable in the future once we get a sponsor.
Yeah, that's JUST what I said; getting a jersey sponsor is easy and there is "probably" one in place. In addition to having no man-parts, you're also a liar.
@Kryptonite will remember if no one else does but IIRC the Acura deal came in late as well. Jerseys went on sale just before Christmas but the deal was signed a couple weeks before first kick They invited those with blank shirts to stop by the team shop at MAPFRE and they would apply the sponsor logo free of charge if you wanted. And I think everyone did
Maybe this will make sense. Fratass McTrustfund, the fat, one-shirt-owning dirtbag owner of yours took a huge shit on the Columbus business community, as has been posted about repeatedly. This was on the heels of having an absentee owner in Clark Hunt, who may have never actually stepped foot in CCS during his ownership, and is the son of Lamar Hunt, who actually sued the Columbus movers and shakers over the Blue Jackets. New ownership is not just going to rush to slap some logo on the shirt to meet a MLS deadline. Regardless, the couple of million you get from a jersey sponsor means a hell of a lot more to your underfunded dickhead owner than our billionaire owner.
