Not really. Bernie has only been through the much more favorable Democratic grinder. He's certainly gone through some demonizing by the right wing media, but he hasn't had mainstream dig him through the dirt yet.
You lot thought Hillary was a surething to beat Trump, yet her losing still wasn't enough to burst your neoliberal bubble. Right, cause I'm not one of your fellow political geniuses that thought Hillary would win..
Neoliberals used this to defend the hatred of Hillary as a good thing, "everybody already hates her, so that makes her the best choice." How about running someone who isn't already despised ? Nah, that would never work.
Based on that Map for Sanders, he may do well in PA, MI if his protectionism wins over his socialism. I would be more worried about losing out on MN and WI, perhaps even VA.
Come on mate.....Bernie is known but never been vetted, that is a simple fact. HRC did not need to do that since she was winning but wait for when the R's open the oppo research on him dating from the 70's up to today. There is a reason they want him in the general. They are salivating at the thought of facing him. Have you seen the polls numbers on just the word "socialism" last week? That in itself is enough to sink him.
Trump's high disaproval rates in MN and WI is likely to make it harder for him to get those states.. VA, tho.. He's only low single digits there, so he definitely could swing that state.

It's great to be young and have the perfect candidate. I thought that way for awhile about Tsongas in '92.
Union voters who really care about the hard fought health care insurance will run away from Bernie in Pa, Mi and Wi. Va will be a toss up and that will be a disaster after the efforts people put there to turn the state light blue. Anecdotally, I have a number of Black women friends and the word among them is to start looking at Bloomberg, of all people, if Joe does not survive. They have no time for Bernie (and for that matter Pete as well). I am seeing that sentiment as well online with a number of preeminent African American women.
You bought up being in a bubble. All I see from neoliberals here is MSNBC talking points. Crying about Bernie's success.
True. . This may help Sanders, Bloomberg has little chance to win (this may change), Sanders can win the primary with whites and Latinos (he does well so far with Latinos). Now, would that be bad in the General if black folk stay away? Maybe, there is no more loyal democratic voter than black women.
This thread is emo-political masturbation when you think about the stakes. As much as I don't like someone buying an election, I'd gladly vote for Bloomberg in November. I'll even be more willing to vote for all of the other remaining Democratic candidates. Too many are crying over little differences. Stakes is High If you look during 3:15 there is an old MLS banner hanging in Giant Stadium.
I am not that sure he can unite and win with whites and latinos. Sanders has a ceiling even within the Democratic party. We just saw a sample in Iowa, overwhelmingly Amy, Joe's and even Liz voter realigned themselves behind Pete. You can bet your bottom dollar that the participation level of black voters, particularly black women will be affected if Bernie is the nominee.

In 2016, Bernie would probably have beat Trump. At that time, electing a 'socialist' like Bernie would have been less scary (considering the 'socialist' would be checked and contained by the Congress anyway) than electing a pig like Trump. I know Trump (kind of) beat Hilary, but that just goes to show how poorly Hillary was perceived. But right now, I don't think Bernie can beat Trump. The pig now is POTUS and while he is still the same pig even in this office, his cult has grown and others have become used to having a pig as their president. The 'socialist' will scare them more, especially since the economy is doing alright. I am sure Biden won't be able to beat Trump either. The ones I think could give Trump a run for his money, in particular "Pocahontas" aka Senator Warren, or Tulsi, don't seem to be doing all that well among the Democratic party faithful. And the rest seem pretty hopeless to me. Which is a pretty sad commentary on America, no matter how you look at it. No one is under any illusion what Trump represents or who he really is. That, in fact, is why nothing 'sticks' against him. Everyone knows it already. Millions have chosen the pig as their leader. Millions are undecided whether a pig is such a bad thing after all. And those who don't like pigs are left with a group of donkeys to follow.
I'd be surprised if Bernie was nominated without the Democrats exhausting every angle of attack. Period. If they don't then that's on them. That's what this process is for.
Will we then spend the next 4 years talking shit about black women the way we talk shit about Bernie bros or 3rd party voters that refused to vote Clinton?
Joe Biden failed to win a single precinct where the majority electorate is people of colour. Sanders on the other hand won 43% of POC vote. Bernie Bros narrative dead and buried.
Might as well put his big boy pants and deal with it, since he (or whomever the Democrat candidate is) will have to win decisively in the general election to get past the Republican f**ckery there as well.
Do I see Paul Tsongas's name? Here's a chance for me to share one of my most favorite SNL presidential campaign skits. Dems stop at Star Trek Convention
He's been consistent for over 30 years. If he ever decides to become a neolib fanboy like Warren I'm out.
