    What happened to him?

His team is doing terrible right now, I wonder if he's contemplating a quick exit this winter back to Japan.

Maybe he should come back to Kashima. Fc Toulouse will likely get relegated imo. Maybe him coming back means that Koki Machida can leave for Europe lol. Maybe Belgium or Netherlands.

He has to stay in Europe. He's too good to go back now.

I hope not. He's good enough to stay in Europe.

I think Toulouse at the moment cannot give him enough time to re-integrate into the team.

Players cannot play for full 90 minutes straight after coming from injury, they usually get more playing minutes gradually until reaching full match fitness. In the current situation Toulouse are facing, they surely cannot do such thing for Shoji.

I think Shoji did a big mistake by joining a team in the relegation zone. He thought that the team will guarantee him a starting spot, but it seems he made a miscalculated decision. Joining a mid-table team or a team that CAN avoid relegation with higher level of competition and not a 100% chances of being stater would have been a better decision in my humble opinion.

I don’t know what to call it? Cowardice? Not having enough confidence of winning a starting spot in a team which have a higher level of competition between their players?

Anyhow, let’s hope he will recover, and become a stronger player than he was.

He's gone because he was homesick. Don't want to hear about him for a while, he cost his team a lot of money and abandoned ship when they needed him.

Thought that he would go back to Kashima and not Gamba instead.

He played 156 min in friendly matches. In Ligue 1 he was on bench for one match and played 45 min in the next match, then eternally injured to eventually go back home. *sighs*
