Never seen softer fouls called from a referee. During a friendly no less. Relax man, if a player falls down, it's not automatically a foul.

I have my doubts about Mendez's overall game, but man, would it be nice to have someone who strikes a ball like that with the senior team.

Sean Johnson really doesn't inspire a ton of confidence.

Arriola needs to hit that first time.

This is Chivas USA level attendance there.

He's on a yellow, and he had a nice run out. No problem with putting in Lewis.

I was hoping to see Cappis today since we don't really get a chance to watch him in the US. Bit disappointing.

No reason for him to be with the team anymore. Give his minutes to Reyna, Llanez, the kid from PSV, whatever. He's a nice hard worker who simply can't finish a chance. Give the kids the time to keep improving.

If we’re playing to a top team he could be of use for his workrate and defensive tracking but generally I’d agree. No need to see more. He just isn’t good enough going forward to take 1 of 4 winger spots.

Gaspar should have taken a shot there.

Too bad on the offside. That was a nice cross by Lletget and good finish from Zardes.

Yeah I've never really minded him because of that, but then I think "if we're playing a better team, we'll need a guy who can nip a goal from a half chance". That ain't him.

I do think he's our best winger defensively, which can be important when none of the other guys (Pulisic, Morris, Weah, Reyna, etc.) are well-suited for a more defensive assignment, and we're playing someone better than us. But yeah, I think he's on thin ice with Reyna breaking in at Dortmund, Weah getting healthy, and Llanez looking quite capable today.

Totally agree. I think he's still #2 on the depth chart behind Morris on the wing, but his hold on that spot is increasingly tenuous.

Dumb, lazy foul by Gasper there after some bad defending.
