Looking very lethargic for such a young team trying to get into GBs plans for the future. Looks like a practice scrimmage.

One more half of the kind of soccer I have come to expect from Berhalter coached teams. Slow, boring and unproductive.

Bit of a bore, really. Lots of passing around the perimeter, neither side taking chances.

Someone needs to pop, flash, dominate, what have you.

I missed the first 30 mins. Llanez the only one standing out if anyone?

Brendan Aaronson hasn't played badly, but is that all it takes to get wild praise from the coaching staff?

Ferreira, Llanez, Aronson in that order. Stupid system takes Aronson out of the game and he is the only creative player.

It's more like the Uruguay game. Not a lot of pressure on the ball, not a lot of energy on either side. It's a Jan camp against a c or d side. Not going to learn a lot from this one.

Team was creating a decent number of good opportunities early when Costa Rica was pushing a bit harder. Then they basically went into a bunker with an incredibly low frontline (except Urena). I'm not surprised we've had trouble unlocking that with this group.

Good flashes from most of the players. Uly has made the best impression, but two of our best chances came off of good Ferreira and Aaronson plays. Good to see all the teenagers showing out.

McBride justifying the Chicago move by saying you watch games together. UHHHH guess they forgot about technology or you know short travel.

More of creating a culture talk, you don't create a culture in athletics. It comes from within. You can act a certain way but it's all an act if it's forced on you. It comes from great coaching putting you in places you can succeed and then reinforcing that with wins. Not rah rah speeches about pride. Not saying having camp rules is a bad thing, but It's not going to make or break the fed. You want to create a winning culture, get top tier coaching from the top down. Sit back and watch.

Yeah, after that 45 I'm out. Pretty boring all around.

I didn't really see much from Uly. At least tried a couple runs with the ball, which says more than most others, but didn't come off. At least he was involved.

I thought Ferreira was very good the first 20 mins, until he disappeared while Long and Zimmerman passed back and forth for the next 25. His touch was good, had some nice layoffs. Think he showed me the most.

What is the purpose of pushing our outside backs up so far, if all the do when they get the ball is pass backwards? All I've heard the last couple years is about how Cannon is so good. He did nothing but pass backwards.

If CR is going to play like that, put someone out there who is going to try to beat a player on the dribble. Maintaining possession at midfield with 10 CR players behind the ball isn't accomplishing anything.

Llanez, Yueill, Aaronson, Zimmerman and Cannon have all looked good.
Good possession but lacking in the final third. I think I’ve seen that before.

US Soccer always just reminds me of Ricky Gervais/David Brent in BBC Office. Just throwing out any type of "management-speak" words they've heard used, without knowing if it actually makes sense (which it usually doesn't). Here's a thought guys...get some data, go look at what France/England/Belgium have done the last decade, and copy it.

Cant wait to see Llanez with Pulisic

    Dream lineup

    Sargent
    Llanez-Pulisic-Weah
    Adams-Mckennie
    Sergino-JAB-Miazga-Cannon/Robinson/Yedln

but gasp Berhalter...no MLS players

The temperature is about 20 degrees warmer than they have been practicing the past two weeks. Some of the guys look a little gassed.

If that is the case then they have been lazy in their conditioning or the condition crew is incompetent.

They're also all very much in preseason shape. Llanez and maybe Cappis being the exceptions.

Pro athletes gassed after 45 minutes (with a 5 minute injury break) in 80 degree weather.

    Ummm...

I like Llanez, Ferreira, and Cannon.

They have been getting down their right regularly, Vines has created danger going forward but also been vulnerable the other way. Including the cross on what may have been a goal if there was video review. That didn’t bounce straight down.

Yueill has some decent home run balls but ends up flustered and going backwards when pressured.

Arriola hustles around but when he gets a chance is imprecise.

    Long had some bad moments.

lletget and Aaronson had a couple moments but largely anonymous.

Cannon with a good overlap, finally, and draws a penalty.

The US is young too. Also they have had a three week camp and they should be in at least OK shape.

At some point the “good getting forward” folks pimping Yedlin and Dest will figure out cannon is no slouch that way either (and can defend)
