LOL at the low contract concept. He sounds like Yura 3.0. His agent will take Fall/DLH to the cleaners.
If this is under 250K then its potentially worth it. I guarantee its not. My guess is he's a TAM level DP, if not full blown DP
Our high conference finish last season means we join the 2020 US Open Cup field in the Round of 32 - May 19 and 20 - rather than the Round of 64.
Maybe he's been getting healed up during those two years. I dunno. I guess from the ticket selling standpoint, former Italian-international is something. I would hope that if RSL signs him for any big time bucks, it's only for a year. That way, if he decides to become Yura/Pool Boy 2.0, it only affects RSL for a year.
Yeah, he's not going to move any Italian fans into the game that aren't already there. Great news, guys, RSL has a former italian national team player on their squad this year! Oh sweet, they got Buffon to replace Rimando? no Oh, they got Del Piero? no Oh, they got Rossi? YES! Daniele De Rossi is going to play for RSL?! Oh, no. It's Giuseppi Rossi Who?
I always held it against him that he chose to play for Italy rather than the USA. I recently learned that at age 12 he and his Dad moved to Italy so that he could enter one of the academies there. After learning that I had to lose my resentment.
Rossi is a villain to many USNT fans. Alvin Jones is a villain to many USNT fans. We're cornering the market!
lets convince Rafa Marquez to come play for us to really drive that home Wait, that would sell tickets. Never mind
Super huge assumption here. What if the "offers" didn't exist and were simply floated by the front office with Sava's agent's approval? Sometime you need to generate the interest before there is interest.
I was pissed at Rossi for going with Italy, but since then, because of his troubles with the Italian national team, it's just schadenfreuden now. As for Alvin Jones, you can be pissed all you want, but he was doing what his team wanted, not thumbing his nose at the US, so I don't see why we are pissed. Maybe if the US had played more like Mexico and less like Grenada, we would have made the World Cup. And anyway, Paul Calgiuri and the USMNT cost T & T their first trip to the World Cup in 1990, so they were just giving us payback. Karma is a bitch.
Nobody should be pissed at T&T (or any of their players) for exposing the frail USMNT. Remember the previous WC qualifiers where the US could have let Panama go the World Cup by taking their foot off the gas? But they kept pushing and knocked out Panama (even though we had already punched our ticket) and allowed Mexico to sneak in over Panama. Nobody faulted the US then. But then freaking Trinidad and Tobago refuse to lay down for us and they are the bad guys? Please.
Gang...it has been 12 years since he chose Italy...I would be more concerned about the former than the latter part of that...but if he is fit and can score goals, welcome to RSL!
Today there was a report that Ramirez had signed with RSL and then hours later his club announced that he'd actually signed in Greece. So it looks like we saw an entire rumor's life cycle all in one day. Unless tomorrow we pull a rabbit out of a hat and pull off the signing.
18 years old. Attacking Mid. Valued at $400K on Transfermarkt. Played in 33 matches for his team last season. Sounds interesting. Edit : Transfermarkt lists him at Asteras Tripoli.
Wait! Am I misunderstanding? It was announced two days ago that he signed with Asteras Tripoli and today it was announced that he got a better offer from RSL and is expected to sign. Did I miss ANOTHER change of direction? My Google Spanish is not great, so maybe I misunderstand.
My Google Greek is even worse than my Google Spanish, but the word this morning seems to be definitive that he's not heading to Asteras.
My spanish is fine. He committed to Greece 2 days ago but he got a better offer (more $$$) from a better league (mls) and he is considering RSL instead. Nothing was final on going to Greece and nothing is final on RSL. But young Latin America talent is intriguing to me. He had 7 goals, played lots of minutes, and is only 18. Looks intriguing on a team that seems capable of developing talent and isnt afraid to play youth.
I actually just misread the date on this Tweet: 🔝 OFICIALIZAMOS con placer y orgullo que el juvenil tachirense Jeizon Ramírez será nuestro nuevo embajador en el fútbol europeo 👏👏 El talentoso mediocampista firmó contrato por tres años con el club Asteras Trípoli F.C., de la Súper Liga Griega 👍¡Éxitos AURINEGRO! 🇻🇪💛🖤 pic.twitter.com/fLW9ihWXsv— Deportivo Táchira FC (@DvoTachira) January 28, 2020 So maybe we're still in the running here? I'd thought this was posted after the rumors. My bad.
