Never heard of an off day at the office? YES,HE IS STILL THE BEST LB IN THE WORLD FOR US. P.S : Waiting for you to throw random names of the Benfica,Valencia and Trabonzspor LB's and clutch at straws,Again. YNWA.
I was waiting for VAR to rule it off somehow but no luck. That was rough but this team is something else. After they leveled and looked really hungry for the win, I was starting to convince myself that we were finally going to lose our first game of the season. Have I learned nothing from these past 2 seasons?
16 points and a game in hand yo-ho...yo-ho Early and Often? Well - they got the early goal again, and I guess, from slightly different framing, LFC do score often, as in, every game! Just keep winning, just keep winning...
I would say that a win like that must be crushing to Man City, but I’m pretty sure they aren’t even watching anymore.
Definitely time for a break. Another great win but some guys did look kind of gassed. Roll on, what a season.
I’m thinking of the psychological weight building on these guys added to the physical fatigue. The chants after Mo scored made me wince. Might be great and cathartic for us supporters but heaping that much more pressure on the manager and players just aint a good thing imo. Klopp is doing a masterful job neutralizing it, but I think it’s the biggest obstacle we face at this point. And make no mistake, it’s derailed us many times before in the past 30 years. It nearly killed poor Gerrard. End of rant. Just sayin. Roll on.
Klopp on Minamino: "It was really difficult for Taki. He felt immediately his calf, he needed treatment at half-time. That was, for his first Premier League game, exceptional." That was a bit hairy but this team seems to know how to pull the irons out of the fire and win. Next.
Agreed. Robbo might not have been at his best but Adama in his current form would trouble any full back in the World. Wouldn't be the worst signing for Liverpool assuming his release clause isn't crazy high.
These are the days. We should cherish them. Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, I think it’s fair to say, we’re going to win the League, absent the most horrendous of slumps which even then would require City to play well above their heretofore standard. We’re going to win the League. But these are the days. We should cherish them. Through a combination of relentlessness, outstanding football and luck we are undefeated and but for a blip at Old Trafford, we’d be perfect. Perfection does not happen easily or often and that’s what’s making this season so special. After 30 years, a damburst of perfection. But I’m under no illusion that if the ball had bounced but a tiny bit differently, I think we’d still be on top, but the race would be tighter, the football slightly less lustrous and the inevitability of late winners not so definite. A tiny bounce of the ball last night and would it have been a draw? Or a late Wolves winner? A tiny bounce at Old Trafford and, whisper it, a loss? A tiny bounce and a loss or draw to Villa? Or Sheffield United? These are the days. We should cherish them. Class, inevitability and relentlessness have seen us gather points from losing positions, from stalemate positions, from positions where we had no right. And that’s what makes this season so special. The joy of a late Firmino winner, of an Alisson finger tip save, of a slick well-oiled machine shifting through the gears and producing a goal, these are all things we may not so readily see again. Certainly not all at once. There’ll always be joy in lifting the League a second or third time in coming years, if it happens, but playing the football we’re playing at the moment may not come again. Or only in fits and starts. This is a remarkable season, a season of wonders. These are such days, we should cherish them.
We now only require a combination of 27 points won by us and dropped by City to claim the holy grail. We have the FA Cup game where we surely will rest most/all of the starters, the makeup game against West Ham, and then our feeder club before we all get a physical and mental break. Can you imagine how a rested and rejuvenated side, with a hungry eye on the prize, could snuff out any vestiges of hope from the chasing pack? Happy times!
