The Revs have a poll where they ask fans for their picks for the All-Tim Revs team. It's multiple choice, GK, 3 Defenders, 5 Midfielders and 2 Forwards.

    Who are your picks?

How is Francis Okaroh not on the ballot for defenders?

    Here are mine:

G - Matt Reis (Zenga had a great career, but spent only 2 years as a Rev)

    D - Parkhurst
D - Goncalves (based on his first year)
D - Lalas (for what he was at the launch of the team--I thought Okarah was better, but he wasn't listed)

    M - Dempsey
    M - Ralston
    M - Joseph
    M - Jones
M - Nguyen (Carles Gil was also listed, but since he was only here for a year I had to give it to Lee)

    F - Twellman
    F - Moore

Just two small differences. Chronopoulos instead of Lalas, and Gil's one year was a good as Nguyen one' great year. Boy was the striker pick easy -- I spent several minutes debating D and Midfield, but strikers was pretty much how fast could I click TNT and JMM.

Gil's one season, while good, wasn't nearly at the same level as Lee's near-MVP season. He had 18 goals (I'm pretty sure that this is the most by a midfielder in league history), 5 assists, and helped carry us to an MLS Cup appearance. Beyond, that he had several good years for the Revs. I get that Lee left on bad terms, but you can't compare the two at this point.

Here's my eleven - tried to balance by position, but couldn't help loading up my midfield with DM's:

    ------------------ Taylor Twellman --------------

    ---- Dempsey -------------------- Ralston -----

    ------------------- Andy Williams ----------------

    ---- JJ ------- Shalrie -------- Leo Alvarez ---

    -- Avery John - Parkhurst - Rusty Pierce --

    ---------------- ZZZZZZenga ---------------------

First off the bench: JMM, Lee Nguyen, Carlos Gil, Mauricio Wright, Matt Reis, Mario Gori and Caté

Avery John: best of a weak field of LB's, w/ Gori right behind
Rusty Pierce was a p.i.t.a., but a dogged man marker
    Leo Alvarez was pure class
Andy Williams - best set up man we've ever had, could deliver a pinpoint pass the length of the field
JMM: loved him in his time, but can't help but feel he'd be outplayed by TNT, Ralston and Dempsey

although JJ, Bou and Gil may be the best players ever to suit up, they get to ride the pine for their limited time with the team

I'm having a Rusty P. flashback. He was man-marking Carlos Ruiz in his Galaxy days, and Ruiz just lost it with him - turned to face him and bitched him out in Spanish - used every filthy Spanish word I know and many more that I don't. Rusty just made a blank, innocent face like "WhadIdo?" Classic Rusty.

You'll have to be more specific! Ruiz played in MLS for like 10 years, it could have been any of those games when he was a cry baby! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I don't think so, unless 'Taylor' and 'Twellman' are different players. ;)

Good mentions on Leo Alvarez and Mauricio Wright.

I am surprised that Okaroh wouldn't have made your bench. I would have taken you for a Sarge advocate. Same with Jogo. I guess that shows that there is a decent mix of central defenders to choose from over the team's history.

JMM needs to make the all-time best XI; I don't think there can be any debate about that.

    Probably should have.

A number of people mentioned Chrono. I always thought he was a bit overrated. He had one season where he seemed to put it all together, but mostly I felt like he was almost a good player.

Also someone mentioned Kamler - he wasn't here long, but while he was he became the best left wing we ever had.

If he doesn't fit at forward, put him in goal. He played there once IIRC.
