I really think this MLS rule (or agreement) is stupid! Benezet is a free agent, TFC declined his option. Why should Colorado give TFC funny money to TFC if they don't even own or wanted the player to begin with. And there is still a chance Colorado might get Jimmy Cabot in the summer, not this transfer window. Or at least someone will according to this: https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.c...firms-that-he-will-leave-lorient-this-summer/
With this move the Rapids now have 4 (5 if Galvan signs) wingers including two they spent big money on and the defending ROTY. I can’t see them bringing in a DP winger in Cabot in top of that.
Gaston update: from everything I’m hearing,Pereiros agent, PSV and all sides have agreed to a deal. All that’s left is for the player to pass his physical and he will be a new player of @fccincinnati #FCCincy pic.twitter.com/PSVctNHt2c— MLS Moves (@MLSMoves) January 13, 2020 Huge statement from FCC
So there have been some rumors about Kenneth Vermeer (GK for Feynoord) going to the Galaxy. Other outlets are now saying they have the wrong team and it is LAFC he is going to. That might add up as there is a picture of LAFC's pre-season camp roster that someone posted on reddit that does not have Tyler Miller listed on it. There are also quotes floating around from Bradley saying that Miller is out of contract and is exploring some options right now. So, LAFC may be going after an experienced keeper for a couple years to mentor Sisniega.
The Eredivisie's website is calling this complete. https://eredivisie.nl/nl-nl/nieuwsbericht/vermeer-verkast-van-feyenoord-naar-mls
Finally some movement in Chicago. It appears the Chicago Fire may have found their new striker. #cf97 https://t.co/gIxwjhpXXq— The Lantern: A Chicago Fire Newsletter (@LanternSoccer) January 14, 2020
1217953082853576704 is not a valid tweet id Meh, this is Colon trying to save face with its fans after dropping the ball on Galvan. MLS may not be great soccer, but its set up by some of the best business men in the world. I highly doubt we did anything significantly wrong here and worst case we throw some money at Colon to make it go away.
Alleged letter, as in it may not be a legitimate letter - or just a poorly worded Tweet (it's a letter that alleges)?
More details here, with this interesting twist: https://rapidsrepublic.com/2020/01/...an-transfer-to-rapids-despite-colon-protests/
Yeah, that's a pretty damn desperate move that tells me they know they screwed up and have no leg to stand on but they have to do something to try to save face with their fans.
So... Is it a club option built into the contract, or is it the work around addressed in Bueno-Rodríguez? If it is a club option built into the contract, I’d imagine there is some cash leaving the Rapids in the form of a transfer fee.. If it is the latter... Who knows?
Quite a few rumored moves coming out of the Eastern Europe leagues. Union: Rumored to be close for a bit, but now over the line: The Philadelphia Union have completed the deal for Slovakia U-21 defensive midfielder Matej Oravec, sources tell https://t.co/QqWAi38GbI.Can also play CB and is a regular starter with Slovakia U-21s.https://t.co/OjalG8HE6U— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) January 19, 2020 *Crew: REPORT: @ColumbusCrewSC are looking to sign 27-year-old defensive midfielder Jacek Góralski. Some interesting trialists in Rapids camp: Kwadwo Poku - After his Russia trip spent last year with Tampa Will Vint - Bounced from Man U's youth academy when visa issues popped up to Atlanta and now back to where he started in Colorado (though not with the Rapids when he was here before) Two Argentinian young players as well, 18 year old Andres Alarcon from Argentinos Jrs. and 20 year old Brian Lopez from Racing. This on the heels of the Galvan signing from Colon. https://www.coloradorapids.com/post/2020/01/21/colorado-rapids-2020-preseason-roster
Is there a forum for preseason trialist and free agent tracking? Derick Etienne is in camp with The Crew and I’m curious where some other players have ended up.

Minnesota Technical Director Mark Watson is extending his stay in Buenos Aires once again as the Loons persue Boca Juniors midfielder Bebelo Reynoso. If Mark has to make another one or two extensions to that trip, he'll be able to claim residency.
