It's the off-season in Scandinavia. Though I hope that's not his plan.

Except in Denmark, which uses a conventional August-May schedule.

Doyle pretty well sums up how I feel about the last year in Foxboro:
Put it this way: the Revs signed a third DP before the transfer window even opened. Mind = blown.

I don't know how the season will pan out. The gold nugget that is MLS Cup is always a crapshoot. But for the first time in many years I am waiting for the season to start, with genuine excitement at seeing this team play.
Honestly, I did not think this would ever happen under the Krafts.

first time in a few years I will make a trip up for opening day. Only thing that would get me more excited is if they brought in a sure fire starting CB or a midfield destroyer

Many cancelled season memberships plus more on the way before they fired Burns is what finally opened their eyes and started them to buttressing their investment. The only thing that communicates anything to the Kraft's is money!

Well, the fact that Burns still had a pretty cushy job for so long, after repeatedly losing IQ contests to sacks of metamorphic and later igneous stones speaks volumes. I guess when he was badly routed by the phosoliphorous limestone, well, that must have been the final straw....

Is it worse to be dumber than a small bag of rocks or dumber than a big bag of rocks?

Keaton Parks completes transfer move from Benfica. He was loaned to NYCFC last year, and is now a permanent transfer.

You can ask Mike Burns, since he has first-hand experience, but I'm not sure he'd know the answer to that...

If we had to play a game today, I'm thinking we'd line up like this:

    GK: Turner

    RB: Farrell
    CB: Delamea
    CB: Camara
    LB: Buttner

    CM: Caicedo
    CM: Zahibo

    RAM: Bou
    CAM: Gil
    LAM: Penilla

    CF: Buksa

That's not bad. And since we've got some depth, there are options available to Bruce in case someone like Camara doesn't work out.

I still think Bye starts at RB on day one. I generally like what Farrell does defensively but he is a 0 in terms of attacking contribution. With Gil being a RW who typicially takes up central positions we need to have someone that keeps the Right side of the field balanced. Bye did well with that last season, so I expect him to get the lion's share of minutes there again.

I also like both of Delamea and Farrell as CB, but they just dont compliment each other well as a pairing. That doesnt mean either is poor, but I think unless Bruce moves to a back 3 or that an offseason together improves their synergy that only 1 of them will be in the eventual xi.

    Current Depth Chart:
    GK: Turner, Knighton, Caldwell
    RB: Bye, Farrell, Jones
CB: Delamea, Farrell, Camara, Mancienne, Kessler
    LB: Büttner, Sinovic, Jones
CM (6): Caicedo, Zahibo, Caldwell, Firmino
CM (8): Fagundez, Rowe, Caldwell, Angking, Rivera
    LW: Penilla, Rowe, Fagundez
    CAM: Bou, Fagundez, Rowe, Rennicks
    RW: Gil, Bunbury, Buchanon
    ST: Buksa, Bunbury, Rennicks

Revs II: J. Caldwell, Buchanan, Kessler, Rennicks, Angking, Firmino, Rivera (not including players who revs II signed but dont have senior roster spots)

I don't think Farrell's going back to right back and I don't think Camara is likely to be a starter - especially right off the bat.

I would guess that Arena still wants/plans to make Macienne work - so I think if he can have a healthy camp, he'll have to play his way out of the lineup.

This camp is Arena's chance to create some cohesion in the back line - I think that'll be among his top training camp goals.

may be right about Farrell. as for Camara I can't see wasting an international roster spot on a back up. Whether he wins that position or not remains to be seen but i suspect that he was brought in to be a starter. I suspect that if he does not win the job and Kessler shows well you may not see Camara next year

I don't really know about that. SI spots get traded around pretty frequently and aren't that precious. I hope that he makes an impact, but I'm skeptical given his previous pedigree.
